The statement reaffirms their commitment to trans-inclusion, and expresses deep concern about the judgment and its effects on trans, non-binary, intersex, and all gender nonconforming people.

Almost thirty UK university centres, research groups and networks in gender/sexuality/feminist/women’s studies, including us, have today issued a statement about the Supreme Court judgment on the meaning of ’sex’ in the Equality Act 2010.
