Based on Take 4, I think the antisemitism is a feature, not a bug, to Julian.

Hegseth photo beside a bust of Caracalla from the Met
Whelp, the amazing Prof. @hilarybeckertxny.bsky.social sent this over, as made by her art historian friend Susanna McFadden—and now I cant unsee Hegseth as Caracalla. www.metmuseum.org/art/collecti...
They think you're stupid.
I’m only about a quarter of the way through, but it’s pretty overt. Lots of heavy scents of roses, blushing cheeks, full lips, comments about the “beautiful boy” by debauched older men who are either bachelors or always complaining about their wives, etc.
I’m reading The Picture of Dorian Gray right after Moby Dick, and I’m trying to decide which one is more homoerotic. I think it might be Moby Dick?
For me it’s absolutely about the tattoo. It’s utterly horrifying that Maine Democratic voters and folks like Elizabeth Warren would even consider supporting a guy with that tattoo; it certainly suggests that they’re willing to be as bad as Republicans on the fundamental issue of virulent bigotry.
Well, you’re definitely living up to the stereotype, if nothing else. Have a lovely day!
OK…to answer your question, yes, he wrote something against Jews—in ink, on his skin. My question for you: do you think the tattoo, Platner’s wearing it for decades, apparently lying about his knowledge of his significance, and refusal to apologize for it,is insufficient to show animus towards Jews?
The tattoo isn’t enough?!
Oh, is Politico doing the post-election sour grapes thing again?
Ugh. Just three horrible men, each being horrible in their own slightly distinctive but substantially similar ways.
Give me a fucking break. Platner wore a tattoo for *decades* that celebrated perhaps the most notorious genocide in history.
Yeah, the big problem with “he may be an asshole, but he’s OUR asshole” is that ultimately, he’s just an asshole.
I like how “now we’re going too far to the right” means “what?! This is going to affect ME personally?”
Heh. When I first read this, I thought it was an incisive critique of Platner. Then I read on and realized you were speaking *positively* about him, and…Jesus Christ.
The SS soldiers guarding this group all wore the insignia Platner tattooed on himself.
Fuck each and every one of you who supports Platner.
Politico as every election approaches: “Here’s why the far-right might win!” Politico after each election: “here’s why the far-right’s crushing defeat is good news for the far-right!”
And those prices include a 24% VAT!
It’s true—here in Greece, we bought a new Suzuki Ignis and a Peugeot 208 for about 22,000 Euros each, and they’re *awesome* values. All of the cars here are much smaller and less powerful than those in the US, but somehow everyone manages just fine, even the farmers with their little pickup trucks.
“But Joe Biden!” is always the last refuge of someone without an argument. Keep rationalizing your support for Platner; I’ll keep voicing my disgust.
Yeah, if you’re going to be that flip about Platner’s countless disqualifying statements and actions, “leave Platner to us” is not at all persuasive.
California dealt with Swalwell, quickly, effectively, and appropriately. Now you deal with Platner in the same way.
Holy shit.
it'll be back in three days
I care that the Democrats have enough principles to run his ass out of the governor’s race! Now if only they’d do the same with Graham Platner…
he got everything he ever wanted and he’s fucking miserable
In competitive authoritarianism, leaders abuse state power to tilt the electoral playing field in their favor, manipulate the media environment and minimize opposition voices, maybe even steal close elections by lying about fraud. But they usually can't overcome a large majority voting against them.
I’d pay good money to watch the reality show of Dreher, Edward Snowden, Gerard Depardieu, and Steven Seagal as bachelor housemates in Moscow.
Polls just closed in Hungary. Here’s hoping Orban gets his ass kicked, and isn’t able to use shenanigans to stay in power!
I can’t tell if the character Daniel in Daredevil: Born Again is based on Rubio, or if Rubio is based on Daniel.
