Opinion | Measles Took My Daughter. This Is What I Want Everyone to Know.

Baby gets measles before old enough for vaccine. Dies 11 yrs later.

Mom: “Refusing vaccinations doesn’t just put your own child at risk. It puts other children at risk. I don’t know where Renae picked up measles. It’s one of the most contagious viruses that exists.”

Yeah, I do complete revisions for all papers, but should increase their recursive thinking.

I followed Mrs. Dalloway's walk through London ages ago with a friend, for a piece I wrote on Woolf, women, and cities. I'm glad Dalloway Day is a thing now.

Not sure I can take part in the CharityBowl this year.

We're down to a single income and bought a house and OMG look at those credit card balances!

man, I am becoming an old crank.

But still, social media platform ceos and conservative leaders are a venn circle, and definitely work hand in glove to stop organizing like the Arab Spring from happening again.

The social media pivot from chronological timelines to popular-first was done at least partly to throttle real time organizing

After building the best public education system in the world brought us the Counterculture and the Anti-War Movement, conservatives in the US began a 50+ year assault to destroy public education.

So the Celtics are on Peacock tonight?

You know, I'm starting to feel violent thoughts towards Bono and the boys for unleashing ZooTV.

It seemed like a fun idea until the greedheads realized they could charge for every single screen.

Once libraries are nonexistent any modern fascist movement wouldn't even have to burn books, but flick one switch and they'd be remotely deleted from your Amazon Kindle or similar digital "library".

Capitalists are already building the infrastructure to do this through DRM, so stop believing tech is apolitical - the defunding of libraries and paywalling of information are all part of this.

A reminder during #NationalLibraryWeek, libraries are our best and last defense against the fascist monopoly on knowledge and information

Of course Matthew Tkachuk is wearing an Ole Miss hoodie.

Bet he would have pledged KA there.

if you hear someone talking about the west, about shared Judeo-Christian heritage, about Jerusalem and Athens, what they’re peddling is a fake solidarity that will have you identifying with billionaires against your own interests

2.45 miles in 28 minutes. Not great, but hell, better than Saturday when I had to turn back a little over a half mile because of the bubble gut.

There are exceptions, but many of the "conservatives" who a decade or two ago wanted universities to teach more Western Civ both (a) had no idea what universities are actually teaching, and (b) had no idea about the content they purportedly wanted to be taught more.

Star Trek The Original Series scene. We're in a CORRIDOR! A room door is open, and we see two crewmen spilling out into the hallway in red and blue uniforms. They are otherwise indecipherable tho because they are entirely enveloped in a big cloud of smoke. It's pouring out all around them and into the hallway area, like there's a Phish concert in there. Closed caption reads, "[COUGHING]"

A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!

Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....
