Every mental health organization in the country screaming that they want to be regulated should give you a sense of just how bad conversion therapy is.

Happy Trans Day of Visibility! Today is also a tough day for the news. Make sure you’re spending time with people who make you feel loved today. ❤️

Though the common adage is "strict in theory, fatal in fact;" the court has been clear that it is strict in theory, strict in fact.

Today's #SCOTUS conversion therapy ban decision is bad, but the story isn't over

SCOTUS didn't strike down the law. It remanded back to the 10th Circuit to apply strict scrutiny

If the law is the least restrictive means of achieving a compelling government interest, it stands

By the way: I’m being facetious - the NCAA policies in place for this appear to work just fine, and they’re parallel to the policies the NCAA used to allow trans athletes the compete.

The NCAA routinely grants exceptions for athletes with ADHD to use performance enhancing stimulants.

Is there a reason the “fairness in sports” politicians haven’t passed legislation to address this?

The Olympics have had policies allowing trans women to compete since 2004.

Gender-affirming medical care for minors has been around since the 1990s.

Inclusion and support of trans people aren’t new.

Update: If the statement from the AMA Comms director the NYT posted today is the full context, this actually is on the AMA.

But what matters here is what the actual AMA is clearly saying: it has not changed its stance on gender-affirming care for adolescent gender dysphoria.

In recent days, AMA communications to the New York Times have requested a correction on their part to reflect the actual language the AMA used in response to their inquiry. Additionally, a letter to the editor has been submitted requesting a public correction—this was neither a policy change nor was it an endorsement of a position taken by another medical society. In addition, during Congressional testimony in mid-March, I had the opportunity to set the record straight stating to the Subcommittee on Health of the House Energy and Commerce Committee that there has been no change in AMA policy with respect to access to and provision of gender-affirming care. This will appear in the Congressional Record.

The American Medical Association directly responds to New York Times coverage mischaracterizing their posiiton on gender affirming care for trans young people.

The best I can tell they pulled the AMA quote from a National Review article… it’s truly become absurd.

Correction (03/26/26): embarred should read “embarrassed.”

See how easy?

This is almost certainly because they’ve been embarred by organizations like @glaad.bsky.social calling them out, so they decided to dig their heels in.

That’s not integrity. It’s ego. (2/2)

The New York Times really needs to get it together. This is disgraceful reporting, and they’ve been doing it for years now in this area.

They’ve been breaking journalistic integrity over and over, refusing to issue corrections. (1/2)

It's crazy to me how much the anti trans side makes insane claims how GAC harms children and yet there are at least 2 movie stars (Hunter Schafer, Nicole Maines), a pop star(Kim Petras), and a model (Vivian Wilson) who all transitioned as youth and are now happy adults living their best lives.

I didn’t say they were skipped. I said that community psychologists with proper expertise sometimes need to do them because hospital-based clinics don’t have enough psychologists on staff.

By the way, financial burden isn’t generally a solid defense against violating anti-discrimination law.

1. The US DOJ is omitting that they *threatened* NYU into their decision to halt these medical treatments. NYU was happily offering services until the threats, & in fact was a leader in this area

2. The DOJ doesn’t seem to understand the distinctions here between state & federal law
