oooh, i think you'll like it. check out, i dunno, maybe his videos on harvester or bloodlines or...well, there are a lot

i'm not very far into it, but so far it just feels like a nice throwback to simple, single-player action adventure games like we used to get before...well, everything
dunno about cliffhangers, but it's fun enough
i did buy the dlc though, mostly so the robot girl could have some pants and shoes
you'd be surprised at what's actually in the works right now to do exactly that. when i say omnipresent surveillance, i mean pervasive on a level previously unimaginable. disparate systems working together to fill data gaps, centralising intelligence acquisition to track even the fully disconnected
sure, but they can and will make installing and using an open OS illegal
ok, louder this time: age verification isn't about age verification
it's about surveillance, enforcement, and control
your ENTIRE life - online and off - will be monitored by AI, which can revoke your ability to use any computer (everything is computer) at any time
and that's just the beginning
fair point, but the fact that game prices have remained basically unchanged for decades is still wild
it also has a knock-on effect to cheaper games. if $60 for a multimillion-budget game is too much, $20 is too much for a much smaller budgeted game
and even then, they won’t buy until a -90% sale
the thing about game prices is that modern gamers are super spoiled and don’t realize games have gotten cheaper over time (not going into microtransactions)
whining about a $60 base game is wild to me
example: Monkey Island 2 sold for $60 in 1991; adjusted for inflation, it’d cost $145 now
sorry
really tired of people thinking every damn thing is a distraction from some other damn thing
nothing is a distraction
it's all just shit on top of shit surrounded by piles of shit on beds of shit
everything is exactly what it is because they don't need distractions when they literally do not care
i have literally worked with every single one of these people
Screenshot from the game. Text says "Scott is very busy prompting right now. He is asking the computer to rewrite the sentence "there is a fire" in a way that is "solution-focused, avoids blame language, and maintains team morale". The chatbot has produced four options. Scott has highlighted the fourth, whcih does not contain the word fire anywhere in it.
I was tired as hell writing most of this game, but I'm just a tiny bit proud of writing Scott, one of the most annoying people in existence

its failure to let me know when i leave out a word?
nothing involving any tech is in any inevitable, despite what its profiteers and their legions of jellyheaded sycophants try to tell you
we don’t have to do any of this
tech stopped making things better long ago; now it just makes things worse and adds a subscription
the answer is less, not more
prediction markets should be illegal
why do we keep allowing obviously bad things like they’re somehow inevitable when we could just, you know…not

p.s. don't forget to take your pills
we live in inverted times
capitalism has inverted everything it means to be human
broicism has inverted everything it means to be a man
fetishization has inverted everything it means to be a woman
marketing has inverted everything it means to be young

short video worth a quick watch because he’s absolutely right
permanently blocking all media outlets that run pro-ai stories of any kind for any reason
pretty much means i'll get very little news anymore, but i'm not really seeing the downside
any government that surveils its citizens without due process or allows its citizens to be surveilled by any entity for any reason is not a government of, for, or by the people
omnipresent digital surveillance effectively quarters State agents in our homes to monitor and police our lives 24/7/365
while i don't think hank green is a paid shill for ai, i do think he functions as an unwitting asset for the industry, which happens a lot with science/tech influencers
there's no end of useful idiots, especially when they're experts in one field bc expertise is specific, but ego thinks it's global
really wish youtube would limit videos to one damn thumbnail so i don't keep seeing the same things over and over with different variations of youtube face

starting to think we'll have to wait for AI model collapse before the AI economic bubble finally bursts, which is fun
ofc, some enterprising saboteur could speed it up with AI agents that continuously generate poisoned data for the already contaminated models to keep recursively training on...

Baby Diego dies next year, and y'all don't even seem to care
i could do without April, tbh. useless, miserable month
Tom from MySpace
Tom never had to testify before Congress for selling your data
Tom never shoved algorithmic engagement bait into your feed
Tom never partnered with sketchy IQT-funded startups to loophole domestic surveillance law
Tom never shoved AI slop into every part of your life
AND YOU ABANDONED HIM ANYWAY
good afternoon
the lies linking an entire a decade between 2016 and the current year need to end today
to be clear, it has only been four years since 2016
numerous fake images and statements about 2016 and 2026 have been circulating on social media for years
be cautious about what you believe
i stopped watching all short-form video content (tiktok, reels, etc) a couple of weeks ago, and my mental health is markedly improved, as is my attention span, my capability of focusing on one thing at a time, and most importantly, my ability to enjoy whatever that one thing is
you should try it
