Went in to see my doctor for my "annual" checkup today. (It'd been three years.)

The nurse thought my old weight must have been a typo (375 => 170), and the doctor was ridiculously thrilled with my success. I don't think I've ever been happy to see a doctor before.

I play fighting games (specifically Street Fighter 6) competitively and I think it's pretty normal to end up around 50/50 in ranked matches if the matchmaker is doing it's job properly. Matching skill level should be the goal, not the win rate, but it seems like two sides of the same coin.

It's weird, it bugs me when people mispronounce things, but I will never, ever, ever call it God-Oh, no matter how correct it is.

So instead I just can't use it so I don't ever have to say it. :)

I had almost completely made the switch and then I got a chance to work on some console games. The dev kit requires Windows + Visual Studio and I haven't found a decent way to work around it. Huge bummer.

One console I looked into uses callbacks and the other requires threads. So they're not exact the same, but I have no doubt you'll be able to wire it up.

The console APIs are pretty simple. They're similar enough that SDL is able to wrap them and present them in a single API. Coincidentally , I've actually got a PR up for adding features to the Playstation version, so I was just in that code recently. :)

Yeah? I never played Bowser's Fury because I'd already played through Super Mario 3D World on WiiU. I'll have to give it a go.

I think the SNES Super Mario World is my favorite, but there's a lot of nostalgia attached. (SM3DW was really good, though.)

Started streaming my ranked Street Figher 6 matches on tiktok as a joke, and immediately felt the nerves kick in. With Combo Breaker coming up, I think this is a good thing to help get over the "people are watching me play" nerves.

Tiktok is weird, but people have been friendly so far.
