There is mounting evidence of genocide of the Chinese government against Uighur, the Myanmar military junta against Rohingya, and Russia against Ukraine.
We must stop diluting this heinous crime and weaponizing the word because of discontent and outrage between parties of a war.

Malicious actors use the legal system to damage or delegitimize, tie up time or win a public relations victory. This is unethical lawfare to gain an unfair advantage and justify their actions. Examples include baseless accusations of genocide and the use of human shields.

Genocide accusations should never be taken lightly. Legal measures can be used to uphold human rights, protect vulnerable populations, and promote peace and stability. This is called ethical lawfare.

Emotional accusations that Israel commits genocide are also used as insults and attacks because the Jews themselves were victims of this crime during WW2. This word is not used so lightly against any other people or nation.
