I've definitely read some, because this is also entirely my jam! I'll have a hunt round and see if I can remember any that weren't horrendous.

I did an Ancient Metalworking day there last year, smelted my own bronze using Bronze Age techniques and tools and made a pendant - I have a very healthy respect for how hard it will be even without doing it in period style!

I've got my eye on a workshop at @butserancientfarm.co.uk to make a torc - I doubt I'd be able to do one this beautiful though!

The latest update on the Iranian women’s soccer team after they were threatened on Iranian state television:

-7 had accepted humanitarian visas
-5 of those 7 changed their minds and have re-joined the team in Malaysia

This is thought to be because the regime threatened their families in Iran.

Oh! That is very interesting and does at least partly explain it... I kind of love that they've just never done anything about it (but it did not help with my cake ambitions)

Weirdly, a while ago I was searching for chestnut flour because I wanted to make a chestnut cake, and also got pages of M&S bras.
Have since moved to duckduckgo instead of google.

Yes - split out by age I think it's noticeably different, greens doing a LOT better with voters under 65. Of course that doesn't help the very immediate future, but it's something.

This week in Rome I learned that the Romans celebrated Septimius Severus instead of Christmas, the Vestal virgins were daughters of the Vesta family, and Nero definitely set that fire.
One of our tour guides was no doubt an excellent archaeologist, but I think her general history was a bit ropey.

A reminder, one day ahead of a by-election in which the Greens are favourites to defeat Reform, that the Daily Mail owner's wife recently donated £50,000 to Nigel Farage's party

First sculpture of 2026 in the bag! It's taken a while with terrible light and I've been both ill and frazzled at work, but nice to have one done
