Trade unions have been the single most important force for improving the pay and conditions of workers, and for forcing an end to some of the worst employment practices.

We would ensure every major contract and penny of public money goes towards boosting workers rights.

No it isn't. Iran has consistently communicated fairly and rationally and normally their claims are substantiated. The US/Israel axis is exactly the opposite. They lie unconditionally.

It is a black stain on every leader yeah but Biden was left, right and centre alongside the main architect. What Biden did paved the way for Trump 2.0 and he is every much as horrific a person as Trump is. Truly evil, despotic people.

Yeah, he presided over the worst genocide of modern times. Great guy.

Am not an energy analyst but why does seem every interview with a U.K. minister this week included a pointed question about why not drilling more in North Sea and almost none about renewables/net zero as an energy security imperative?

It’s bizarre, frankly

This is why I constantly argue the terms of middle class, working class and upper class belong to a time that's long gone. People always jump on and say 'you can't say that!'Etc etc
I'm not saying class divisions do not exist, far from it, just that those particular terms no longer serve purpose.

Such a nonsensical response to playing a friendly. Grow up and try not to take people down with you. We qualified for the World Cup and did so by winning one of the most entertaining games of a generation at Hampden. This was a friendly against Japan trying out systems and players...

And gas. Why are we living in a grid based densely populated city of tenements like Glasgow and relying on piping in foreign gas FFS? Makes absolutely no sense,we've known about the climate crisis for decades. The lack of investment and foresight from UK and Scottish governments has led to this.

I had the fear when I got rid of twitter but honestly couldn't give less of a fuck about it every minute since. Bluesky is fine for what it is, the less toxic vibes inhaled in life right now the better.

I could imagine a feeble, cowering, half wetwipe half human Keir Starmer in this scene. On his own, probably with that confused but condescending grin on his pathetic coupon.

Not sure Trump is the problem with the despotic American imperialist murder machine.

It won't be.

We know the answer to that. It'll be identikit neoliberal slop. Let just hope the fire doesn't get properly into central.

Coming from the Western Isles, it's a problem that exists mainly in Glasgow. It's toxic though and the negativity affects the rest of Scotland for sure.

Except last year...

He's worse. By a fair distance.

Starmer is the worst possible 'leader' and I really fear for our future.

1 month ago 3 0 0 0

Completely agree. People who voted for Starmer were deranged. The tories are horrific and so glad they are consigned to history but even at least they have some semblance of a plan. Starmer is like a human wet wipe, devoid of thought and only able to react to those who tell him what must be done.

It took just one phone call from Donald Trump for Starmer to jump into yet another Middle East illegal war, failing to learn the lessons of the tragedies of Iraq, Libya and Syria.

Please hold Starmer to account over the Israeli American murdering of an entire school of small girls. Why is our media largely silent on this!

1 month ago 1 0 3 0

It's almost beyond comprehension that this has happened and our media is largely sidelining it. One of the most horrific massacres of kids surely in a targeted attack. Pure, thoroughbred terrorism. The UK Labour government supports this, their actions since the crime have cemented this fact.

Really concerned to hear the Defence Secretary refuse to rule out UK's involvement in future strikes on Iran.

Iraq lessons must be learned.
Further escalation in the Middle East makes us all less safe.

Starmer must rule out UK involvement immediately.

Hmmm seem to have missed it.

It's the best thing Starmer has actually achieved as prime minister. His legacy will be bending over to get China to give us a chance to visit their decades ahead technologically advanced civilisation.

His book on postcapitalism was definitely interesting but after that he appears to have had a bit of a crisis and somewhat lost touch with political and cultural reality. He should be grateful he never made it into politics into what is going to go down in history as the most disliked labour ever.

Over and over the US inflicts obscene violence against the global South, in flagrant violation of international law, to maintain the conditions for capital accumulation for its decadent billionaire class. It's disgusting and intolerable. We cannot continue to accept this.

Congrats, amazing result! Some amazing feats from smaller Scottish clubs in past decade or so, yourselves, Caley, Ross Co and St J spring to mind, great to see.

Eurovision is a project of rich white Europeans. It makes absolutely no difference to Palestine, obviously. What makes a difference is pressurising governments to stop a genocide. Wasting resource on Eurovision is juvenile politics at best, the greens need to do much, much better.

I've been protesting for the people of Palestinian for many, many years. No one cares about a Eurovision contest, it makes no difference to the people of Palestine and is of no concern to anyone apart from a rich white European class. It's embarrassing to spend time on it as a serious cause.

Eurovision? Cmon greens, please do better than this nonsense. This isn't politics.
