Iran going after Bsky is a genuinely funny waste of resources.

I always thought Sun Tzu's "Art of War" was a little simplistic and obvious but it turns out yes, you do literally need to tell the Secretary of War "you need to feed your troops and keep them from being wiped out by preventable diseases"
everyone with real American manliness and a basic knowledge of military history knows that serious war efforts have never been derailed by such trifling matters as "communicable diseases"
I hate personality cults in politics.
Hated it with Johnson. Hated it with Corbyn. Hate it more than I can express with Trump and Farage.
But the one around Starmer (people calling him 'Sir Keir' and talking about 'the grown-ups' etc is just a bit sad. Come on people. He's rubbish and you know it.
Tweet by Martina Navratilova. "Predator. That is how he should register. A sexual predator…" quote-tweeting a tweet by "Biology Rules OK" about Dr. Beth Upton, a trans woman
This tweet is highly defamatory and Martina Navratilova should be fired from BBC Sport for it.
It demonstrates an horrendous level of hatred for a trans woman (who was cleared of all wrongdoing in a recent tribunal) because she is a trans woman.
Prince left us for some brilliant purple dimension 10 years ago today and @anildash.com presents this massive tribute 💜

ANCIENT GREEK PRO WRESTLING PROMOTER: ok so you're going to be what's known as a "heel"
ACHILLES: fuck you
Screenshot from Mastodon, white text on black background: Erik Uden @ErikUden@mastodon.de Once libraries are nonexistent any modern fascist movement wouldn't even have to burn books, but flick one switch and they'd be remotely deleted from your Amazon Kindle or similar digital "library". Capitalists are already building the infrastructure to do this through DRM, so stop believing tech is apolitical - the defunding of libraries and paywalling of information are all part of this.
A reminder during #NationalLibraryWeek, libraries are our best and last defense against the fascist monopoly on knowledge and information
The cyberattack on The British Library in October 2023 knocked out ebooks and almost ever other computer thing there for years.
Ebooks just came back. They were knocked out everywhere using the BL’s license (legal deposit libraries I think? More libraries?)
Distributed physical copies matter.
the best way for starmer to save himself is a charity rap record
we are informing the press that the prime minister will shortly have a sincere & unscripted display of human emotion
you won't like him when he's angry. or, indeed, if you check polling, when he's not angry.
Me on here: I'm going to Like this to let the poster know I enjoyed their post. I'll repost it so other people can enjoy it
Me on every other site: if I accidentally mouse over this post, what tangentially related nonsense am I going to get flooded with for the next three days
the arc of history is long but it bends, confusingly, towards Peter Mandelson accidentally making Kemi Badenoch the Prime Minister
I’m the guy who invents new bathroom faucet designs for every hotel. You might know me from Knob That Goes The Other Way and Joystick That’s Hard To Turn Off. Lately I’ve been lacking inspiration, even thinking about hanging it up. I’ve had a good run, but — wait, never mind: Ball You Turn Diagonal
This is not ok. Rape victims are not pawns in your political games.
in the early days of the net websites used to have messages like "welcome to my amazing webzone, i hope you enjoy the things i've collected that represent my strange mind." now they're just like "by clicking this box you agree to recieve targeted advertisements in your dreams"
VERY COOL PERSON: It's four-twenty, you know what that means?
ME: Hell yeah! [starts shoving blackbirds into a pie]

Naming my security company after the giant evil eye that, crucially, was too distracted to see the actual threat sneaking in
University students are, by their nature, the most open minded people going. They WANT to learn, they WANT to be exposed to new ideas.
The "issue" is (in this context) is that they will also CHALLENGE those new ideas that they learn about.
And certain sections of society don't like that.
First-waver here. Famotidine and fexofenadine have been life-savers.
20.00 FILM: ANT MAN Marvel's exciting adventure about how Declan Donnelly starts conversations with his TV partner.
I see we're heading into the "Nobody ever liked him" phase of doomed leadership.
I remember all the big media studies textbooks in the early nineties being obsessed with the TV presentation of American wrestling. Interesting, I thought, but weirdly niche. Cut to today, where every aspect of society operates like American wrestling.
