In a season where both Liverpool and Chelsea have lost roughly a third of their league games, it’s all the more infuriating that it’s #NUFC that require a huge reset. Schooling Arsenal over two legs feels like a lifetime ago.

Watching this version of NUFC has become joyless, and that in itself is exhausting. We are going through the motions and look to have accepted that there's no other way to play - hence the same predictable outcome week after week. When teams play without attacking intent, it all becomes meaningless.

I miss our dawg
@georgecaulkin.bsky.social’s point really resonated. We are inherently a team that allows football to just ‘happen’ around us, and have lost the ability to stamp meaningful authority on matches and influence the outcome. We lack any kind of identity or raison d'être. Worrying times indeed for #NUFC
Absolutely. The game moves in mysterious ways. For all the bluster, air time and column inches of last summer, both players have had ‘nothing’ seasons (so far) and continue to dodge the limelight. Irony with a £180 million price tag
The fact that Wissa’s lack of involvement in pre-season training at Brentford was self-imposed was an immediate red flag, much like the player he replaced (Isak), who also instigated his own ‘personal’ training camp. Perhaps explains why both suffered injuries this season and fitness issues continue
That’s a textbook away performance from #NUFC. Disciplined in all departments, and made Chelsea look very ordinary. What a way to set up the next two fixtures. Thiaw and co were outstanding at the back.
… or you could just be Ronnie Hotdogs
Post-match debrief should be interesting 😬
Chris Cavanagh and his ‘assistants’ need to be stood down for a week or three. They’ll have nightmares when they watch that back. Trelford Mills levels of incompetence #nufc #FACup
An absolute bin fire of a performance from #nufc. This season can do one

Have a good one mate x
Bravo! 👏🏼
My personally curated list of Newcastle United BlueSky accounts. I have tried to make it as comprehensive as possible, and I continually update it with that goal in mind. bsky.app/profile/did:...
Absolutely. It resembled a training session at times
Plenty of positives but the same nagging negatives for #NUFC. Being strikerless when we were on top before the break cost us dear. Elanga a threat, and Thiaw looked the part, but Barça were far too comfortable in the second-half
They don’t come much cooler than Robert Redford. All The President’s Men remains one of my all-time favourites. One of cinema’s greats. RIP
