I don't remember too much about the others but I LOVE Counterparts. Some of the lyrics are silly even for Rush and it's kind of their Obligatory 90s Alternative Album but that sound fits fantastically with Rush's musicianship and the production sounds incredible. "Animate" is one of their best.

I get it, but after actually listening to them more in depth, that's such a strange place to draw the line. IMO they never fully got "bad" but even if you think they did I don't understand loving MP but disliking Signals.

Out of curiosity, what do you think of Counterparts if you've heard it?

If you're mad about Joe Hendry being squashed, I don't think you understand what the point of Joe Hendry should be.

It's okay, though. TNA doesn't either.

Ozzmosis is an album I always try to steer people towards when he comes up in conversation. Definitely the best of his dips into the "alternative" side of rock and metal. Perry Mason in particular is one of his strongest openers.

What was your 1st live Wrestling show?

This Smackdown house show the night after Jinder won the title lmao

Also I saw American Alpha live and remember nothing about the match :(

The fact that fans I've seen arguing about ratings, "casual fans", and "drawing money" are now complaining about WWE being "too corporate" after Wrestlemania is simultaneously hilarious and maddening.

This is what you wanted. Shut the fuck up and eat your slop.

(I have not made a lot of great decisions this year so let me have this)

Based on what I'm hearing about both nights, not watching Wrestlemania is probably one of the best decisions I've made all year

"But they have the right to defend themselves!"

There IS no defense for this. That's the thing. They put tons of WWE guys on the card and had them win most of their matches. Some people aren't gonna like that. They just aren't.

Accept it.

I'm more disappointed by the defensiveness being shown by the Bloodsport crew over the criticism of the WWE presence on BSXIII than I am by the presence itself.

You KNEW what you were doing. You KNOW why people are disappointed. Own the direction you took instead of wagging your finger.

AEW management this week: "Dynamite is now the longest running pro wrestling show on a Turner Network! We're so proud to continue this tradition. Stay tuned for AEW Grand Slam on June 18th as we become the first American promotion to hold a show in Arena Mexico!"

Nothing said by anyone in WWE during Mania hype this week has been a mistake or a disaster, in their eyes.

TKO wants WWE right next to UFC at the core of dudebro chud culture.

This means having a figurehead telling critics to fuck off, or top stars publicly admitting to being Trump guys.

No idea how AEW is going to approach the Arena Mexico Dynamite. A straight up AEW/CMLL supershow is the most obvious route, but doing a more story driven episode could also work. Excited either way!

Is Triple H and Nick Khan's method of hyping Wrestlemania to just say stupid shit non stop all week?

Every time I see a new quote from one of their interviews, it's somehow dumber than the last.

This is fake.

This is a fake show with fake wrestlers who have fake names.

Shut the absolute fuck up.

Been giving this some thought:

"Struggle" I would say usually refers to wrestlers conveying the existence of or creating the illusion of difficulty and competition in wrestling

"Grit" is harder to describe. It's more of a vibe of general violence, anger, danger, and harshness.

"Grit" might have been a better term to use than "struggle", though.

Star Jr. vs. Zandokan Jr. could be accused of not "feeling like a struggle" because it's a high flying match, but it was gritty as hell.

Haven't seen any recent Dragon Gate but I don't know if I'd say that describes most current CMLL I've seen. Plenty of the rudo teams don't feel seamless at all. Maybe, like, El Sky Team matches, but I'd say those feel more like a struggle than Paul matches.

Logan Paul is more like SANADA but worse

Man is this how people who hate Ospreay and the Young Bucks feel about them

1 year ago 1 0 2 0

I feel like you have to not care about the part of pro wrestling where they actually, like, wrestle each other in order to enjoy Logan Paul matches

His stuff is clean, well performed, flows seamlessly, and is totally lacking in struggle.

It bears no resemblance to the wrestling I want to see.
