Bing has blocked neocities and all user subdomains from its search index.
We’ve spent months trying to resolve this through official channels and gotten nowhere.
Until this gets resolved, we are recommending that people do not use Bing.

Some of my favorite TLDs are going up in price at every registrar on October 6.
This includes domain extensions like .coffee and .pink and .cafe! If you have a domain name with one of these TLDs, you can renew now for multiple years to get the lower price. #DomainNames

I like it! The cursor kitty feels like it's unlocking a part of my brain from the 1990s.
But definitely still write your own if you want to! Everyone's guide turns out a little bit different.
That’s what I was going to say. Ah, <center> tag, I miss you.
Me: Today has been the birthday of the World Wide Web. 34 years old today!

To celebrate HTML Day #htmlday I added a link page on my awesome Neocities website and illustrated it quickly with a scanned pencil drawing that I doodled on the back of an envelope.

You're next to me on a webring(or were, maybe it rotates), and your homepage is amazing!
I've installed Readeck on my server for saving and reading articles from the web, and I really like it. It has highlighting!

I'm checking out free web hosting providers that can be used for fun and personal websites.
I wanted to know what to recommend to people who want to make their own website, so I decided to try things out for myself!

Here's a roundup of some great indie/small web newsletters this week. Most of these were delivered to my RSS reader.

Do you want more pink in your RSS feed?
If, like me, you are in the Venn diagram of people that read #RSS feeds with the #NetNewsWire client and also want their News to be pink, I have the perfect theme for you!
You can get my #pink themes for NetNewsWire here: https://www.shannonkay.com/themes/
Nice! I’m obsessed with the .pink TLD. I’ve got two registered already.
Here's what I use for internet basics.
- Email: iCloud Mail with Custom Domains (https://support.apple.com/en-us/102540
- Browser: Safari or Firefox; Opera or Vivaldi if I need something Chromium-based
- Search Engine: DuckDuckGo (https://duckduckgo.com
- Domain Registration: Porkbun.com
Having your own website is not going to fix democracy, or capitalism, but it makes a political statement. It says "I want to carve my own space on the web" and I think this is a radical act. It was when I originally said this in 2022, and I mean it even more today.

Bluesky Domain Handles: How do I change my Bluesky username to my domain name?

How do I change my Bluesky username to my domain name?
www.pixelshannon.com/bluesky/hand...
Verify your Bluesky account, Bluesky domain handles, and testing free web hosts that you can use to make a Bluesky handle to match your website address.
I use iCloud mail with custom domains for email.
For browsers, Safari if you’re on Apple. Firefox as an alternate for any OS. Opera and Vivaldi if I need to try something in a Chromium-based browser.
DuckDuckGo has been my main search engine for years.
It’s so easy! I’m starting to think people don’t care about domain names as much as I do.
