MLK Day is a reminder that history happened right here in Texas.
Jan 5, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. came to Dallas to speak at the Music Hall at Fair Park. More than 2,500 people attended. Outside, bomb scares and protesters tried to disrupt the event.

Under Trump's watch, a DHS agent shot a protestor in the face with a non-lethal round at close range, fractured his skull, and then dragged him around as he choked and bled. He is now permanently blind in his left eye.

A bus of Bronx middle schoolers pulled up to the Capitol this morning for a long-planned field trip just a few hours after the government shut down.
All Capitol tours were cancelled as the guides can’t work in shutdown.
So I escorted them in myself and gave them a personal tour. They were great!
