(3/4) One of the most sinister findings about this illegal agreement is that multiple independent medical experts and govt officials, including a fmr State Department staffer and two fmr UN Special Rapporteurs, corroborated evidence of systemic torture at CECOT BEFORE this agreement took effect.
(2/4) These are just some of the abuses suffered by the 288 Venezuelans and Salvadorans kidnapped off our streets by the Trump administration and shipped to CECOT, the infamous torture center in El Salvador.
(1/4) Beatings, sexual assault, broken ribs, dislocated jaws; the use of gas and rubber bullets; and guards regularly threatening to kill detainees, telling them they would be buried alive and that there was a crematorium to dispose of their bodies so no one would ever find them.
