Honored to share the stage with such an esteemed group to discuss the recent National Academies report on active shooter drills in schools. The report has concrete takeaways for research and practice that can help avoid emotional and mental harms of such drills.

Hats off to all of our undergraduate and graduate researchers in the @UF_COE who shared research during the annual research symposium.

Perhaps no state has responded to school violence with such persistent policy adoption as FL. Since the Parkland tragedy, each year has seen new laws that reshape school safety and security practices.

This week, I join leaders from across the nation at Florida's National School Safety Summit, sharing practices to make schools safer.

Our @UF_COE graduate students visited the FL capitol today as part of UF's Early Childhood Policy Institute. We met with stakeholders and policymakers and shared expertise on improving early childhood education.
