PSA: My doc told me that the average insurance is more likely to pay for the booster, for Americans born between sometime in the 70s and sometime in the 80s (the dates can be found online), than for the titers to find out if you need the booster, and it's easier to just go ahead & have the shot.

Despite the best efforts of the Southern Poverty Law Center! They do their best, but some folks don't want that knowledge out there.

I love that style, particularly for fairy tales. Very Grimm. I'm sure your covers were lovely!

I was the one girl in my Sunday school class & always got to be Mary, the widow with her mite, etc. Now you're telling me I should have gotten to be Jael with a tent peg!

How do people have so much time as to fixate on a random tweet of yours? They need a life.

And thus I clothe my naked villainy
With odd old ends stol’n forth of holy writ,
And seem a saint, when most I play the devil.

No kidding! I too would bring a hell of a lot of diversity to Harvard. They need more outspoken Southern bitch types there...

Great books! I feel like Klaus Theweleit's Male Fantasies belongs in there somewhere. Similar stacks spotted in my office and other academic boltholes I've taken refuge in...

Boston is great for walking to see all the different architecture. Do the Freedom Trail!

...but is now really touristy. There are still some places where you can see the old N'ville. Dive bars & meat &3 restaurants. D.C. is good for museum overdose. So glad you liked Boston!

Savannah is a great little town with good food. I hear the same about Charleston (& of course New Orleans). Chicago is worth a trip, and you'd probably love the sports culture (& food). Louisville is like a miniature for a mix of Southern & midwestern sports & foodstuffs. Nashville used to be fun...

Can you tell him that the AI Slack slop is unhelpful and it doesn't substitute for the x he needs to be doing? Or is that something a boss, rather than a coworker, needs to tell him? Because it sounds like he needs to be told.

One time someone asked A.S. Byatt about the movie version of Possession and she sort of answered and then started talking about how great the movie version of Angels and Insects is (it's really good) and it was a beautiful thing to hear.

Hey, the last (unfortunately) acceptable prejudice in this country is about Southern accents. There are plenty of fair things to criticize about Tuberville that aren't the way he talks. Mention them instead.

"Counseille me, Kynde," quod I, "what craft be best to lerne?"
"Lerne to love," quod Kynde, "and leef alle othere."

["Advyse me O Nature, what art to lerne?"
"Lerne love," seyde Nature then, "And leve the rest."]

I was told not to learn medieval Irish till I had learned medieval Welsh first and it did seem to help some, so hope the similar strategy works for you!

Speaking languages, no. I've found extra dead languages a lot easier to learn from knowing related dead/live languages: Old French from knowing Latin & French, Old Norse from knowing Old English & a bit of German, etc. It makes sense, though...
