Then what is the point of him being AG? Oh, right...protecting Trump. Never mind.

A lawyer for the El Gamal family, that has spent close to a year at an immigration detention center in Texas, demanded the family’s release after a federal magistrate judge found that “requiring them to endure further detention… risks compounding the constitutional violation.”
Monterey Park. Come for the AMAZING Chinese bbq skewers, stay for the no data centers in city limits!
If Nigel Farage does ever become Prime Minister, do you think the media will apply the same level of constant scrutiny and hatred to him as some parts do to Keir Starmer?
Over the past 20 years, Seattle lost the Sonics thanks to the stewardship of Howard Schultz, saw dozens of stores close while the company engaged in apparent union-busting, and steadily reduced its local headcount.
There's coffee everywhere, Seattle. Spend your money elsewhere.
Your government refusing to prosecute sexual predators, but protect them instead, only makes sense when you realize your government is being run by sexual predators.
I'm watching the Jimmy Savile documentary on Netflix and it's remarkable how much it's actually about how Thatcherism hollowed out public institutions such as hospitals so that they came to rely on the largesse of private entrepreneurs who, now being indispensable, were able to act with impunity
Its interesting that regular people can be charged for "standing by" during a shooting, but cops can't (thinking of Uvalde)

"They went door-to-door to tell their neighbors what the city had not told them: The data center would use twice as much electricity as all of Monterey Park."
The city’s notification in English reached only 40 people living within 500 feet. Activists worked in English, Chinese, Spanish & more!
Rand Paul, who has expressed a lot of skepticism of this plan and who voted against the Big Beautiful Bill, votes yes to proceed. Doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll vote yes on the final thing, but it shows us where his mind is.
Of course. No matter how you feel about either of her potential opponents, they would absolutely be better than this.
They think you're stupid.
The verdict of a prominent conservative website and magazine:
"A 79-year-old man who has long dealt in chaos is now being consumed by that chaos. His episodes are becoming more frequent, his good days further apart. What he has lost is not a sense of decency or decorum—he never had those...

Republicans have always believed it's cheating for Democrats to fight back in any capacity, not least because so many Democrats agree
every conservative political complaint comes back to "those people shouldn't count because they disagree with me"
One big political divide is between people who believe germs cause disease and people who believe Those People cause disease. It was pretty evident right away during the pandemic
A reminder while Republicans bitch about Dems finishing the redistricting fight they started: they have full control of gov’t— they can pass a law banning gerrymandering any time they want. They won’t. Republicans aren’t mad gerrymandering exists; they’re mad that they’re not the only ones using it.
EXCLUSIVE: The SPLC indictment, the Klan history behind it, and the ignominy of Todd Blanche.
Another dark day for DOJ.
Tonight, at Law Dork:
Two things can be true:
Congress should pass uniform, national legislation reining in partisan gerrymandering; and
Until that happens, or every state adopts an independent redistricting commission, neither party is going to (or, frankly, should) unilaterally disarm.
The message of the Right reacting to Virginia is the same as the message of "2020 was rigged": no victory by anyone but us is ever legitimate. We are the only ones allowed to win.
These people are cartoon villains entitled to no respect and no trust. Rabid dogs.

"In the place of problem-solving technology, companies have jumped on successive bandwagons like NFTs, the metaverse, and LLMs. What these all have in common is that they are not built to really solve a market problem. They are built to make VCs and companies rich."

The DOJ is now 5 month in breach of releasing the Epstein files.
Holding these criminals accountable should be the Nuremberg of our time.
I know people who’ve done substantial jail time for less. The problem is not that impaired driving isn’t taken seriously, but that some people are held to different standards than others. Without that connection and/or wealth, he’d be facing serious jail time.
I don't care about the celebrity connection but this story highlights how our culture mimimizes impaired driving. This guy already had a DWI conviction before killing a kid with a 0.11 BAC...and just gets a misdemeanor charge. He should lose driving privileges for life!!
