Writing thoughts today:

I've been at this for 10 years and all I have to show for my efforts is a sandbox of fully fleshed out characters, color coded worldbuilding spreadsheets, and shelves of abandoned stories.

But maybe this time I'll get it right.

#Wicked : "Fiyero is the love interest"

My Children: "Mommy! He's kicking books!! He's a bad man."

This perception stayed till the end of the movie.

An injured ankle in an ankle brace.

An injured ankle in an ankle brace.

The 7 yr old bested me in a stick swordfight at the playground because I tripped over the terrain and fell.

It was all very comical.
She earned the win.

scores of pissed off Mormon CIA agents who just got canned are ideologically cross-pollinating with platoons of fired trans FBI agents. we are on the verge of new types of politics our ancestors could only dream about

It is a reallly hard transition the first couple years....but now I can't go back to High School. I'm in too deep and it's fun!

If I were to write nonfiction- I'd write: "They Hired Me to Teach Middle School Science: A Survival Guide."

The first Sentence would be: "Most people suffer through three years in middle school.... I'm going on year 15*." And then I'd share my journey & how teaching Middle School can be awesome. โค

So like.. my partner when we married was cishet male and since transitioned to NB/Trans (I knew before we got married.) It was funny because I went from "bi" to "pan" because "bi" no longer fit.

I have a whole notebook devoted to brain worms that don't quite fit the story, but need to get out of my head. :P

Tell my partner about it and excitedly share my ideas with writer friends. They're the best cheerleaders and keep me going. <3

Ooohh...Well. I started writing werewolves (circa 2005) as a way to write through my trauma by sending a werewolf to defeat my PTSD nightmares...
My world has since evolved but I hope my readers will get a sense of recovery, resilience, and recognize their healing journey through my prose.

YES YES YES! Bi-erasure sucks and must be combatted often. (My main character is pan and her first romantic partner is a cishet male- but he's not her forever love...)

Stubbornness is a great way to put it. You need a lot of that in this line of work.

When I don't write for awhile- my brain doesn't shut up about it. So I'll be sitting there grading or parenting or whatever and my thoughts go to plot points and sticky areas in my manuscript until I can write them out.

I'm trying something new this year. I have a laptop that I'm ONLY using for writing/writing adjacent things. I'm hoping to train my brain to be like "Oh- we're on the laptop- writing time!" Also doing a mindless buffer activity before settling to write like getting a shower or putting away laundry.

A hillside of snow with trees and moonshadows.

Took the littles outside to experience the magic of moonlit snow.

No one was disappointed โ™ก
