Black-and-white photo of the Küsnachter Tobel, a rocky forest stream in Küsnacht, Switzerland. Fallen and leaning trees cross over the water, and bare branches frame the scene.
Spring is back. Went on a little hike yesterday to explore the Küsnachter Tobel with the family.
Happy Easter, everyone.

Yes! My nickname when growing up was "Claude", and many old friends still call me that today. Luckily, my brain somehow reads "Claude" (the AI) pronounced in english, more like "Clawd" while my nickname more in the french "Claude" way, so I'm fine with it 🤷♂️
Tools on a table at the dentist practice.
Unexpected change of plans today. My son chipped a tooth and we ended up at the emergency dentist.

Black and white photo of a tiger standing at the edge of a pool of water, surrounded by rocks and trees.
Another one from yesterday’s visit to the Zoo.
Not sure if I’ve ever seen a tiger from this close (it was even closer right before this moment, but I missed the shot)

Kids climbing a small playground boulder wall at the Zoo.
Spent this afternoon at the Zoo with my mom and the kids, for the book launch of Globi's 100th book "Globi bide Papageie", which my son is a huge fan of.
Here they were climbing a small boulder wall at the playground, where we took a break in between.

A jar of my first batch of homemade Miso, matured for about 2 years now.
Just over two years ago, I started this little experiment to make my own miso paste. After an initial taste test about one year in, it was time to “harvest” some more of it now and to see how it matured. It’s so rewarding to see (and smell!) the results of...

The Limmat river near Letten in Zurich, with the water drained for some repair work. Shot in B/W.
Met a friend for coffee today and we sat in the sun at river Limmat for an hour or two – or what's left of it while it's been drained for repair work.

View from our room in Sedrun to the mountains and the trees on the other side of the valley.
Just came back yesterday from this lovely place in Sedrun.
Only three nights this time, but lots of luck with the weather and snow. And it’s been amazing to see the kids ski on their own(!) now.

This is about what we do as well! Style tokens like colors and stuff in theme.json, the rest mostly plain CSS/SCSS.
We do put them in separate files per block and use some autoload-style function to take care of enqueueing only when a block is actually on a page, though.
Same here: still columns

Lots of people sledding on "Monte Diggelmann" last Sunday, a small hill near where we live.
We went sledding on “Monte Diggelmann” (a name grandiosely misrepresenting the actual altitude of this little hill) last Sunday. As you can see on this picture, it’s the place to be for every kid in Zurich when snow falls. It’s the same place I sled down as a...

Sledge upside down on the floor, while I was trying to remove rust and wax it with what we had at home.
It snowed throughout the night, so we got out our sledge today.
I tried my best to remove all the rust and wax the runners with what we had at home: a drill, a hairdryer, some beeswax from a candle and sandpaper.
We’ll see how that goes...

Two screen prints by Stellavie that I just framed. One is "But what if it works" in big bold letters and the other a graphic of "Fear" & "Less" mingled together in a 3D cube, both in bright neon color. I love them.
Got these two beauties as a Christmas present. They are from a shop called Stellavie, where they get screenprinted by hand. This week I framed them and now I only have to find the proper place in my office.
One of them reads “BUT WHAT IF IT WORKS” in bold let...

Students walking over the frozen lake in Irchelpark.
Snow day in Zurich today.
Decided to take a quick walk around Irchelpark on my lunch break. Some students took the quicker (although possibly not safer) route over the frozen lake to get to the other side.

Shadows in the snow during a walk today.
We went on a beautiful little mountain hike today, while two of our friends took the kids skiing. They returned them completely exhausted, but also happy and very proud.
Now back at our place relaxing and preparing dinner, and tomorrow will be our last day on...

Looking up into the frosty forest in Veysonnaz on a small walk today.
Rest day today with only a gentle walk through the frosty forest in Veysonnaz. Now preparing dinner for tonight and looking forward for the new year to start.
Wishing everyone a happy new year 🎉

Family sitting at the breakfast table this morning.
My family sitting at the breakfast table this morning. Our son didn’t feel too well initially, but wanted to ski so badly that we went anyway. Luckily all was good after that.
I decided to rent a Snowboard again and loved every second of it. I should do thi...

View from our balcony in Veysonnaz, Valais, looking at Haut de Cry.
Arrived up in the mountains in Veysonnaz (Valais) for a week with friends and look forward to some days off.
We couldn’t ask for a better view, with Haut de Cry (I think) standing tall (2’969m) right in front of us.

Oh boy, I think I would have to return the car over this 😵
Oh, these are great!
Nice cover designs are one of the reasons I still prefer reading paperbacks over e-books.

Wandbild "Alt-Konstanz" auf einem Haus in der Altstadt von Konstanz.
It's been a year since we spent a weekend away without the kids. This time, we went to Konstanz. Shitty weather, but a beautiful city nonetheless.
