Ok. I did it. Thoughts and prayers please.
😬
I paired it with ventilation advice etc and the study on repeat infections increasing the risk of long COVID.

Happy 89th birthday to George Takei who is so much more than just a beloved Star Trek actor.
I won't list his many accolades here. But in 1992, I traveled to L.A. during the curfews. I was slinking about after dark, hiding from the cops.... all to find Mr Takei's star on the Walk of Fame. Found it.
But, to my surprise, there were otherwise no references to the Fab Four, nor even snide little puns. I can only assume that they decided beforehand to get thru the entire hour without referring to Liverpool’s most famous export.
I was surprised they went as far into the episode as they did but of course they did eventually show the outside of the Cavern Club, where they mentioned Penny Lane and its connection to a sea captain who spoke to parliaments in defence of the slave trade 2/
Just watched a Time Team special on The Lost Docks of Liverpool. Said to my wife we should drink every time they mention the Beatles. 1/

And so we end another day’s wordle. And what have we learned?
POPNB filed FOI requests in 2021 & 2022 and found out that CMOHs and public health in EVERY province were being WELL warned about long COVID. But the Globe and Mail has never cared about that story. protectnb.ca/rti.html#2848 (security certificate expired - will get on that)
I spent today at the hospital and didn’t see a single respirator (other than my own).
There were a few people wearing surgical masks.
Signs saying it was a “mask friendly” environment.
No free masks.
No mask mandates.
Tons of coughing & sickness.
Masks belong in healthcare. Period.
Pale gray World Health Network graphic with the whn.global logo at the top. Large pink and black text reads: “COVID-19 never ‘ended’.” In the center is a simple white mask icon with pink ear loops. Below, large black text reads: “You should still be wearing a mask.” At the bottom it says: “World Health Network” and “Science for a safer, healthier world.”
COVID-19 is still spreading. Respirator masks are still one of the simplest ways to reduce risk, for you and the people around you.

Coonley Playhouse Window, Frank Lloyd Wright
It actually looks even more FLW than the other one anyway
The Columbine massacre was on this date in 1999. Instead of energizing our country to get gun violence under control, it kicked off a new normal. One of the best explanations ever of journalism's destructive impact on mass shootings came from Roger Ebert in his review of Gus Van Sant’s “Elephant.”
👏 Canada 👏 Post 👏 is 👏 a 👏 public 👏 service 👏
Nothing proves how capitalism has brain rotted everyone than thinking the post office, hospitals, public transit, libraries, etc. need to turn a profit to be worthwhile.

I realize that I fell into their trap: all extremist narratives embed a lie that often goes unchallenged while we fight over words like ‘quarrelsome’

It’s Monday, so isn’t “negotiations are going great” scheduled for market opening?
Frank Lloyd Wright Water Lilies table runner
And I need a table runner in that pattern!!
I dunno which is more effective—but the square version would be at home as a stained glass pattern in a Frank Lloyd Wright home.
The circle version subtly conveys “this infection has changed you” tho which gives it an edge.
WATCH: Researchers at Stanford University modeled how many people could die or be disabled in 25 years if vaccines for polio, measles, rubella or diphtheria were no longer available.
Using language to convey precisely what you mean is a radical concept in Canada. We won’t stand for it, not that we’d ever say so. I mean, we wouldn’t want to upset anyone. It’s fine, it doesn’t bother us at all
Bars in Washington, DC had been struggling since Covid. So why are the city’s Democrats so eager to get rid of Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, and Jeanine Pirro?
