A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!

Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....

I'm not sure about you, but I think the collapse of US hegemony, a global price spike and recession, and a new ground war in the Middle East are far worse than drag queens reading books at the library.

Afroman is shown seated and wearing a red and white striped suit with stars on the tie, along with large sunglasses. The text reads: "I didn’t win, America won. America still has freedom of speech. It's still for the people, by the people." Quote by Afroman, a rapper and singer, on the occasion of winning a defamation case. The PEN America logo is seen at the bottom.

Afroman, rapper and singer, won an important civil liberties case in Ohio last week. Seven police officers sued him for defamation after he made an album with music videos using surveillance footage from their raid of his house.

Obama: "We are living in a time where it can be hard to hope. Each day we wake up to some new assault on our democratic institutions. Another setback to the idea of the rule of law ... but this man - Rev. Jesse Jackson - inspires us to take a harder path ... bc if we don't step up, nobody else will"
