A picture from the late summer. A large traffic circle island with plantings and no turf grass. A 15' Sugar Maple Tree in the center contrasts the other finer textures with a dark black-green hue. Diverse plantings with various shades of tan, light and medium green, along with ground cover and the remnant flowers of 'Fireworks' Goldenrod.

Traffic circles are a huge missed opportunity. I volunteered a layered planting design w/ native plants to enhance the ecological value of this one. We can't have this in the US b/c the landscape industry can't care for it, become commercialized, based on labor and chemicals rather than knowledge.

Exactly this.

The Irwins are why I started Crawlies. My (out of print) Crawlies book is dedicated to Steve & my copy is signed by Terri, Bindi & Robert.

Terri is also a HUGE inspiration for me.

Sometimes it is 100% okay to meet your heroes! If they're the Irwins.

Paying it forward! #becurious

Initial thoughts:
Love Blue jays.
This capture, simply breathtaking.
Deepens my humility and commitment to advocate for all nature.
Deserving of more peanuts.

Another incredible photographer here on Bluesky, what a treat. Captures of nature and immersing myself in her sublime beauty are what help me revive, energize, and thrive. Thank you, artists of all genres for sharing your visions!

Good morning Bluesky!

Happy Sunday to all of you!

Today Iโ€™m grateful for color in our brilliant world. Having relatives who were colorblind, as some of you may be, I realize what a wonder and a blessing it is to have color vision. And imagine โ€” many animals see an even greater range. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿงก

Even though not a native plant to my continent, taking in some Macro Lily is food for my soul. Plant magic.

NATURE SLIPS

Politicians fail us every day they donโ€™t put nature first.

Nothing is worth it to risk the lives of billions of animals, humans & plants for.

Itโ€™s time to give politicians an ultimatum, either they act for people & planet, or we have no use for them.

Timeโ€™s up!

My next-door neighbor had his tree "trimmed." Ugh. It should be illegal to do this to a tree.
