whoever still thinks this website is better than twitter for some reason- a woman made friends with too many starving palestinians so liberals fitted her up as a criminal and hounded her off the website. that's your 'progressive social media' dream bestie

I don't either really. I do my best to take care of myself with traditional medicines and what I eat but I have to have a checkup on my diverticulosis this year to see if I've made any progress in healing, and since I can't do that myself I have to go through the horror of being perceived by wasicu
*and about the pain in my broken foot
The other accused me of lying about going to Indian Health Services previously (this was a few weeks after I had been in the er for the aforementioned diverticulitis) about the pain in my *broken foot* that I was there for a checkup on. She told me to take mushroom supplements.
One thought I was lying about my pain because she said I was lying about previously going to an "Indian Health Services" clinic since we don't exist. I had diverticulitis.

I have health insurance again but two of the last three doctors I saw didn't think Indigenous people still exist so I'm having some anxiety about using it.
In a totally predictable turn of events, Elizabeth Warren swings from falsely claiming Indigenous ancestry to enthusiastically endorsing a weirdly obvious nazi. What a career...

On this day in 1988, the US Supreme Court handed down its decision against the Northwest Indian Cemetery Protective Association, ruling that the Free Exercise Clause of the 1st Amendment to the Constitution doesn't protect Native ceremonial sites from development.

To be clear, Iran is re-closing Strait of Hormuz because Izrahell has been carpet bombing Lebanon, even though Lebanon was included in ceasefire agreement. (The US government is now pretending it was not.)Around 100 Israeli strikes hit Lebanon in under 10 minutes. Mass casualties, many under rubble.
A collective photo taken at Firestorm Books. Our team, including five humans and two dogs, is sitting on the sidewalk in front of the building looking relaxed. The sky is bright but cloudy and flags on the building hang without any indication of wind. The building is painted forest green and various posters and signs are visible in the windows, which reflect the sky. The largest reads "Immigrants Welcome."
Like a lot of small businesses in our region, Firestorm has been in financial distress for the last year. Hurricane Helene was our tipping point, but local cost of living increases, inflation, and higher occupancy costs are huge contributors. 1/9
I know we all Want It To Happen but for real that's when things are going to start to get bad. Imma celebrate but kind of in a last hurrah kind of way.

this whole noem thing is just giving y’all a “license” to be queerphobic for the joke.
idc what he does in his private time. the problem is what they publicly defend and the people they hurt
y’all will laugh yourself and your peers into the grave if it means not having an ounce critical thinking
Yeah, when long ago an anarchist activist group had two hour intro interviews with 100ish standardized questions and a followup process people thought it was mad organizationalism, but I immediately defended that choice because I understand fucking incentives and social dynamics.

Knowing who to be mad at is praxis.

I have a little spider (that came with the apartment) who lives in my houseplants and today they were hanging out while I was watering things and they learned all about nitrogen fertilizer.

We can't settle for abolition, these are real nazis
I think this story is helping me understand why the generation Dolores Huerta inspired was so strongly tied to the idea that activism should be intersectional before anything else. It's not a buzzword, it's about keeping abusers out of your movement
Dolores Huerta's statement on Cesar Chavez: “I am nearly 96 years old, and for the last 60 years have kept a secret because I believed that exposing the truth would hurt the farmworker movement I have spent my entire life fighting for... I can no longer stay silent and must share my own experiences"
