2 years ago, I came out publicly by posting a comic on the same day I started HRT. It resonated with a lot of people, and since I deleted my twitter I'd like for it to have a place here on bsky instead. (1/3)

Erne may have been something once; but there are many beginnings, i've learned. And now they get to have theirs; and i do also.

But this hurt is a reminder that I am better off without the person who treated me like dirt. It's a reminder that I matter enough, and that I am deserving of care, kindness and consideration. That I am not and never have been a chore.

And that I define me. No one else.

While they were meant for a different purpose, the person they were created for ultimately threw them away. And I, as Erne's designer, was cast away also.

But in many ways I'm thankful about it. Which, I admit, may be odd to hear considering my above paragraph is talking about hurt.

This is more of a personal one where i'm taking the time to process a recent hurt. Erne is an oc that had a different birth than many of the others I've got floating around in my head.
