Fascinating new work reveals how anti-CV2/CRMP5 autoantibodies may be a potential driver of neuropathic pain in paraneoplastic syndromes. This mechanistic insight suggests a new therapeutic approach for patients. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
So excited to share our preprint uncovering FGFR3 autoantibodies as pathogenic drivers of pain sensitization.
Using patient serum, human DRG and rat models, we found that autoantibodies can find FGFR3 on sensory neurons to induce hyperexcitability and hypersensitivity.

Please consider donating. This is an incredible resource that is the foundation for so much of what we know in biology.
very well done video on what is happening to basic health research right now all over the US: www.nytimes.com/2025/08/24/o...
Can't wait to read this preprint from Misha Ahrens and team. Calcium imaging in larval zebrafish, in every cell in the body! Amazing.

A big game changer in the CRMP2 game bringing together old and new litterature and further validating CRMP2 phosphorylation at S522 as a excellent therapeutic target for alleviating pain.
Really enjoyed going to see the Steeler's preseason game yesterday! The Steeler's played well but in the end lost to Tampa Bay. It was my first time to a Steeler's game and I have to say I enjoyed it. Although it was very hot!
This preprint: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... is now accepted for publication in JCI! Heavily revised manuscript with tons of exciting new data should be online soon. Huge congrats to @dianatavf.bsky.social who led this project with incredible creativity and skill, just like she always does!
Congrats!! 🙌
What do you think Lee et al.’s findings in @natcomms.nature.com of a feedforward amplification circuit for cool sensation, as well as a modality-specific spinal pathway for thermal processing, do for our understanding of thermosensation? bit.ly/3JlS8rS #PRF
This is incredible! Congrats on the manuscript!
Hats off to lead author Tony Lim who drove this project from writing the fellowship application, to establishing new techniques in the lab.
We developed a reversible self-amplifying RNA (saRNA) system that encodes innate immune suppression directly within saRNA.
Next step, in vivo!
Just posted on Pain Research Forum! Dr. Greg Scherrer's curated list of pain-related papers published August 1-7, 2025 and his choice for Editor's pick. Check it out at painresearchforum.org @iasp.bsky.social @nyupainresearch.bsky.social @utdpaincenter.bsky.social @sutherlandphd.bsky.social
It's so beautiful there! How do you build a fake ruin? That's quite intriguing to me.
Check out our new paper in Nature Communications! CRMP5 is a central regulator of pain and DRG hyper-excitability!
