Tip for novice runners: You do not need to carry/drink water on most of your runs.

As long as you're hydrated going in, you'll be fine. You don't need water on a 60min run.

Save lugging around hydration stuff for long runs.

Seeing What Isn’t Seen: Strategy in Complexity Preparedness and strategy need to be fit for purpose. This article looks at a recent event in Finland that parallels COVID-19 and illustrates how we need to think of health systems strategy as a dynamic, complexity-ready process, not a static plan.

Strategy and preparedness in health systems can learn from other contexts like the recent incident in Finland where one of the most prepared countries in the world missed something that was right under their nose.

Love this. Slow down. Be tangible. Do it in person when you can. Engage as many of the senses as possible. Challenge participants to create, not just think. Challenge participants to pause, not just create. Inspire interaction with reflection. Make it beautiful. Listen a lot. (thanks for asking!)

The #1 factor determining whether a training program will work or not is belief. If you don’t have buy-in, even if the training is perfect, it’s not going to work.

Decisions are at the core of any strategic action, yet it's remarkable how little attention we pay to designing the conditions to make them in ways that fit with our values and how we want to be. It's a reminder for any theory of change or strategic plan design.

What was common value is now (almost) exceptional design. I just started (fast-forwarded) through another podcast where it wasn't until MINUTE FIVE that it got past all the ads, promotions for courses, self-congratulations and so on. This is terrible. It's far too common as well.

Impact without evaluation isn’t impact — it’s a hypothesis.

You might be right.
You’re probably missing half the story.

Evaluation is how we find the hidden gems and learn from the rough.

I can't say enough about how much I like @milanote.bsky.social as a resource. It's one of the few tools that balances an ordered, text-oriented approach to organizing things with a visual, fluid and flexible way of adding and creating. #tools #tips

High-performing people don’t go it alone.

Athletes, artists, chess masters all rely on coaches—people who see what they can’t.

Leaders in health & social impact are no different.

It’s how clarity is built in complexity. See 2026 with new eyes.

I'm not a fan of the trend toward line-based writing. I really don't like reading an article that's 25 separate lines. Paragraphs worked for centuries; very few writers are so profound that their prose requires distinct separation of every sentence.
