People who work in the charity sector, particularly with service users, clients, beneficiaries etc. What do you pick from drop down for job in forms for car insurance etc? Charity Worker seems closest but it just doesn't feel right! They rarely have Youth Worker either. So old fashioned these lists!

Ok cheers. Will find out what happened first via PALs (hopefully) and then let them know.
No, GE. I've emailed PALs, just waiting for a reply now.
Ironically seeing this in Sign Language Week, the same week I had an inaccessible hospital appointment because my GP's request for a BSL appt in the referral didn't get processed properly.
... making do, is very stressful by the way. Even on an non-urgent appointment like this one.
Sitting in a hospital waiting room trying to lipread each person coming out calling a name... because, a BSL interpreter hasn't come. I saw the GP request one in the referral note. So what happened? I will 'make do' with my live transcribe app on my phone. But this isn't how it should be. At all.

When young people look up to people in power it saddens me that they see the rhetoric that "diversity = (apparent) lower quality" implying non-disabled are superior. It is crucial that ALL YP have the belief that they can do anything anyone else can. Diversity IS quality. I am so angry today.
BSL community: have we established a sign for this app? I was just thinking that BLUE SKY wouldn't really work because BLUE is regionally variable. BUTTERFLY would work, but I wouldn't want to assume anything without asking first!
Just discovered I can't message you on here so hope he gets in touch.
I've sent some a link to this post who actually posted a few days ago on FB with this exact thing. Hope he gets in touch. I'll DM you his post just in case as I think he made it public.
Fab! I did Education too for my first degree also intending to teach. Albeit without an additional subject I could actually use to get into the PGCE course because I didn't understand the system at the time, cos, access ๐๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ
Oh my word. That's actually terrible ๐
Oh, and yes it's in pdf format ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ
Wondering if I can refuse to complete. The extra burden right now personally is not something I can shoulder - should have been sorted years ago!
Spotted you mentioned DSA here. They've got in touch with me randomly, more than 2y since I finished masters to say they have unpaid invoices and need me to complete form for 2019. Would req. me contacting uni etc - I already did this surely years ago - I'm in disbelief at the incompetence!
One of them says "more ice than a decent g&t" ๐
Last chance to register, this is open for any deaf people with all communication preferences.
Frustratingly a recent hospital appointment letter I had gives no option to contact the hospital or department other than by telephone. It refers to interpreting support but again, you are offered phone only to arrange. Fortunately I have access to a VRS account but this isn't good enough.

Well that's annoying. I buy a new board game every year. This year got one that can be played remotely so eldest at uni can join. You use your phone to show and answer the questions. Except there's no way to turn off the questions that require you to listen to answer... #NotDeafFriendly #Outsmarted
Excellent to see a blind man AND a deaf woman in the final for strictly this year. After Rose previously winning Strictly, Tasha on Bake Off, Love Island, MAFS, etc, it's a huge improvement! But let's see some reps with extra intersectionality factors now c'mon already!

That is true. I had someone (non-signer) once massively praise the interpreters for doing "such a good job" and saying how impressed they'd been, when actually they hadn't been suited to that specific interpreting job at all. It made it difficult for us to then pass on the necessary feedback!
Whoop whoop, PSA: "deaf identity" clothing now has zip up hoodies ๐๐ป
Three people standing in a park holding yellow placards that say Deaf people deserve proper care. No more excuses, no more barriers. Deaf people are still Sick Of It.
Group of people standing together in front of the Department of Health with placards.
Yesterday we were in Westminster with @rnib.bsky.social and other charities to hand in letters to the Health Secretary Wes Streeting.
We are asking him to meet with us to discuss how to make healthcare accessible for deaf people.

So far Blue Sky is just giving me nature pictures from around the world. I could live with that ๐

Long lost the love for the other place. Breaking my rule of "no more social media accounts" for this one. Still trying to find everybody!
