2/4. The entire practice of the Holocaust of the Jews involved zones of statelessness. It is easier to move people away from law than it is to remove law from people. Almost all of the killing took place in artificially created stateless zones.

People are wondering why Gen Z is apolitical. They're not: they just don't see our generation of old folks caring about the same things that matter to them: gun violence, climate change, and the mass slaughter of Gazans right before our eyes. They couldn't care less about the stock market.
They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.
Revolution over rules, then.
Oh, Insta isn't showing the preview? here you gooooooo
Probably a combination of rejected claims, missing/delayed/reduced checks, and a whole lot of arbitrary and capricious behavior throughout it all.
I have no illusions that they “care.” Of course they don’t. They want to privatize everything (even safe air travel). I’m just saying that 70 million seniors aren’t going to stop receiving social security checks.
Dems need to stop focusing on what the other side is doing wrong and start uniting behind a clear message that offers folx hope for the future. This pearl-clutching and doomsaying didn’t work in 2016 and 2024, and no pandemic is going to save us in 2028.
That’s not going to happen. I hate Trump and his cronies more than anyone but this catastrophizing will not work.
The more you know. #exitplansundertrump
California Democrat Eric Swalwell: “I’m friends with a lot of these guys, and I had wrongly assumed that what was holding them back from speaking out against Trump was they were afraid of losing their jobs, but what they’re afraid of is their own personal security."

#tbt is for this guy and this song today. Holding space for those being bled to death by greed.
Democracy dies in decorum.
What he said about Social Security payments has been repeatedly debunked - so the question isn’t whether he’s lying about this, the question is why.
What is this a pretext for? He and the GOP have long shown interest in going after Social Security. What are they going to try?
As a professor of English, allow me to try, humbly and with the proper respect, to offer an appropriate response to the President’s address:
Fuck you, you fucked-up fuck, and fuck all the fuckers who willingly fuck with you, especially. You can all fuck all the way off, and then fuck off some more.
Morning from Kyiv!
I slept long today.
Feel rested at last.
Just made a warcoffee
and am going to write.
It is foggy outside.
Spring.
The drones were not here all night.
What drives me crazy about the anti-DEI rhetoric is everyone wants to be judged on merit. But you can't be judged on merit if you can't even get in the door because you don't fit some prejudiced definition of who is capable and who isn't
#HomeOwnership rates play a key role in the widening racial wealth gap. By 2021, 74% of white households owned homes vs. 43% of Black households, making equity gains uneven. A professor explains: https://buff.ly/4ieZlpQ

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has reached out with kindness and encouragement, both personally and in these social media streets. So very proud of The Reidout @joy.msnbc.com team, who are truly family, and all of our supporters & friends. See you tomorrow night at 7, one more time ‼️
After that plane literally flipped upside down after smashing into the runway and 100% of people survived, I hope every person who ever said “what’s even the point of seatbelts on a plane” feels like a real doof.
This is why you fight these cowards.
The moment you stand up to them, they crumble.
Homan has nothing. The Fourth Amendment is clear and I am well within my duties to educate people of their rights.
He can threaten me with jail and call names all he wants. He’s got nothing else.

The NAACP Black Consumer Advisory encourages consumers to 'buy-in' on companies that back their values.
Tesla's stock is ridiculously overvalued, and even a modest consumer boycott could tank the company, which accounts for the majority of Elon Musk's wealth.
The divestment movement weakened apartheid South Africa. Let's do that again. slate.com/business/202...
Folks are shocked that their institutions, after professing commitments to climate justice and DEI, are now caving to Trump and scrubbing all references.
It's brutal.
And it's the smallest taste of what our students felt when their universities called in the cops b/c they protested a genocide.

Code-X:: Contemporary Chicanx Codices: Code-X reimagines the long tradition of the codex as a dynamic space for contemporary Chicanx storytelling, identity-building, and resistance. Through visual narratives that fold and elide time, the artists draw from ancient, colonial, and modern histories, merging ancestral knowledge with present-day experiences. These works reconfigure the codex format to explore the layered complexities of migration, indigeneity, Mestizaje, and cultural survival, embodying stories that resist erasure and reclaim space within the broader landscape of American art. The codices in this exhibition are not static relics of the past but living evolving documents that challenge linear histories and offer visions of new futures. Curated by Rafael Fajardo Thank you to lenders to the exhibition including Museo de las Americas, Denver Botanic Gardens, and Shark's Ink. Special thanks to Victoria Lyall for advising on and championing this project. Thank you to Kate Crowe and the Special Collections of the University of Denver.
