The trouble with having dyslexia & learning from reading books is that I will inevitably have really strange pronunciations to words. For the longest time I thought labyrinth was pronounced la-brinth & no one knew what I was talking about when I mentioned the masterpiece by Jim Henson.

Today I vended at a Métis Winter Solstice market/event. I got to spend the shortest day of the year surrounded by my culture, and the people that I love. Even if life is hard sometimes, I am blessed to be a member of my community. I am thankful I am Métis.

I had such a fun time doing my first indoor market. I got to talk to some very nice ladies who recognized my sash right away, and one of them even called it a Michif sash. 🥹
I also got to scare a child by taking my elf ear off before realizing they were too little to understand it wasn't real. 😅
