This is absolutely incredible: the average temperature over the past six months (October-March) will end up at 52.5°F in #Albuquerque.

That's 4°F above the previous record warmest.

🤯 Even after accounting for climate change, the odds of it being THAT warm are 1-in-123,000!! 🤯

Sad that this can apply to #NMwx

Today’s stats from my WF Tempest. The temps get your attention but so should the 7% min RH and only 30% RH in the morning. It’s hot but also extremely dry. #NMwx

Albuquerque tied it's March record high temperature today of 85° (set in 1907 & 1971). We'll break that Thursday (88°), Friday (89°), and again on Saturday (90°).

ABQ has never recorded a 90° day in March OR April.

Okay. Who forgot to hide the Sharpie?

Bottom line message: Do not burn anything. I want to use a different word. Don’t do anything with a flame in NM or anywhere. Just no.

…or worse sublime with any wind. 5) And what vegetation is left to cure or dry out during spring green up will do so in spades. 6)Wildfire season is here and it is about to get soaked in “diesel” thanks to this extreme heat. We have already issued red flag warnings 12/16 days in March.

…Mountains will be melted. This means mid-slope timber and higher terrain has no snow pack protection and cures faster. Wildfire risk goes up. 3) No more snow also impacts water supply. 4) It’s gonna be dry with several hours of RH < 10% for multiple days. So what snow melts may also evaporate…

Well here is how big of an area that potentially experience record high temps. Most of the Desert SW and NM. “Big deal” you say. It’s not like this is extreme summer heat. Okay but consider this: 1) many people won’t have their evap coolers switched over from heat. 2) What snow we had in the…

It was 24°F at my house in NW ABQ this morning. By Thursday we will be looking at a high temp of 88°F. Not a typo. Here’s a look at the record upper atmosphere heights and temps. And this pattern will persist for several days into early next week. So what? #NMwx

Others have posted as much already but a lot like last winter - NM and really much of the Rockies are well behind in snowpack for the season. The snow earlier this month was good but failing to stack up snow events has really led to minimal snow pack. Thanks La Niña. #Nmwx

Okay #NMwx we can stop with this insanity of way above normal temps for December. These departures from normal temps are ridiculous. Seriously. 23° above normal for ABQ on Saturday? Make it stop.

Trump moves to dismantle major US climate research center in Colorado The Trump administration is breaking up the National Center for Atmospheric Research, taking aim at one of the world's leading climate research labs.

NCAR is quite literally our global mothership.

Everyone who works in climate and weather has passed through its doors and benefited from its incredible resources.

Dismantling NCAR is like taking a sledgehammer to the keystone holding up our scientific understanding of the planet.

Unbelievable.

It finally happened: #Albuquerque just had its first freeze of the season, breaking the previous latest first freeze date by a huge *4 days*!
I put the two tables side by side (1892-2025 and 1892-2024) here so you can see how this new record has nudged the late-season historical percentiles a bit.

Ya especially at halftime. Can’t really blame them. But in the end - those posts didn’t age well. Meanwhile down in Austin…

I think I’m done processing that this in fact did happen. Feels good to be a Texas Fighting Aggie. 10-0 overall and 7-0 in SEC. Survive and advance. Aggies never quit.

Well there’s a chance of precip for NM this weekend with a small shot at heavy precip Nov 18-19. It’s been good to have a break but could use some wet around here. #NMwx

It continues to be a record warm start to November in Albuquerque. Sunday was our first below average temperature since late October. So far this month is a whopping 7.7º warmer than average, and 1.2º warmer than the next warmest start to November. #NMwx

I hated when Schmidt went back to OU. Moffitt has certainly brought back that toughness. It is noticeable. I hated the run D was not good but Ags got up early and never let up.

As a grad and fan of Texas A&M football, really enjoying this 2025 season so far. Did not think the Aggies would beat LSU like that in Death Valley. Got a bye week to get ready for the final third of the season. Feels good to be a Texas Aggie.

Nope. Me neither. And I’m enjoying every bit of it. What a second half. Elko’s halftime talk must have been 🔥🔥🔥

#NMwx And if you didn’t get any rain the last 2 weeks with all the moisture then it’s gonna be a while until there’s another chance.

7 day forecast rainfall with 5 plus inches expected for portions of Northern Mexico, Arizona, and Southwest Colorado

Prepping for an uncertain and possibly intense few days. Priscilla and, if it forms, Raymond look to hammer the southwest. My area of responsibility ends with, but includes the Rio Grande. I feel for the forecasters just to my west, but this is too close.
