“Why must life be so hard? Why must I fail in every attempt at masonry?”

New(est) Doormaker is the Act 3 boss that’s the best crack at making you have to think about your deck during Act 3. The most poised to step into the shoes of Time Eater.

Yup, it seems clear A10 was meant to take the place of A20 (which makes sense), but they’ve still been undershooting on overall difficulty. I don’t think just adding Act 4 is all that’s missing.

Honestly I find the sweatiness doesn’t even get that bothersome—it’s, like, contained in a funny way. You feel it a lot when you take it off though

Even now (almost 20 years later) this makes me feel better about not getting a federal clerkship while I was at HLS

(Like, I knew about FedSoc before this post, but just reading it put this way is cathartic)

It's the Prices, Stupid Consumer sentiment is at an all-time low because prices are at an all-time high. Consumer sentiment isn't broken, popular government data is just incomplete

The index of consumer sentiment isn't broken; models that try to predict it just don't have the right input variables. I fix that and find that, yes, high nominal price levels explain why the vibes are so off. It's the prices, stupid

The reason we have a lot of dad games, aside from the other reasons people have mentioned, is that ultimately it fits really well with the first or third person action adventure genre in that it takes however much of your time you choose and then you can put it down and go do whatever else you want, having had the experience of Having Parented

I think we both have it on very good authority that this is true—but would we really encourage anyone to be one for these guys

Ha—I did finish my math degree and then did also figure out the gender part later. (Half-joking—It didn’t really fade. I didn’t formally do math after college, but I still like it and use it a lot)

I’m nonbinary because I’m hot but also good at math

Reddit RPG Games and RPG Game Remakes Criticism of Reddit RPG Games and Remakes.

fell down a rabbit hole, apparently the most thorough guides for Baldur's Gate 1&2 are written by a woman who has been thoroughly blogging all her video game opinions since the 1980s.

she gave Baldur's Gate 3 a 2.1/10 rating and scathingly calls it a reddit RPG

This is amazing. It feels like something I have no idea how I haven’t seen already. Somehow it doesn’t give the same distaste as typical “angry at video games” online stuff, maybe because it feels genuine and personal?

Nice A10 win in flight. The remove-Exhaust event seems to somewhat commonly be a bit silly, perhaps

For folks who watch indie game industry news, Slay the Spire 2, in early access, outsold the *lifetime earnings* of Hades 2 AND Silksong in its first two weeks alone. Soft estimates suggest they are on track to make $250M over the next 12 months; a new record high for the Godot engine.

Also Prey:Mooncrash is so heavily underappreciated for what it’s doing (applying immersive sim core systems to a procedural time loop instead of a linear narrative).

I don’t know what happened about the show, but I rarely went and watched the whole thing—while I’ve watched Freckle bits and compilations a whole bunch of times

I use em-dashes and lists of three things and overly long sentences. But there’s no way I’m going to give them up for fear of being mistaken for AI. I’ve simply started making sure all of my documents contain a synthesis for methamphetamine.

I think Doormaker redesigns are definitely intending to fill the Time Eater’s shoes of adding some obstacles to run-of-the-mill infinites

That thing feels very threatening for a hallway fight for sure. But then, it’s one of the things in the game that really gives resistance to cardspammy decks, and the game has been needing to add more of that as it is.

tbh watching cis people get arrested on trans people's behalf is more heartening than I would have realized. It often feels like it's just us, when the going gets tough.

If private businesses risk themselves to continue to allow trans people use of the correct restroom, it'll mean a lot too.
