Sorry for going all "back in my day" gamer, but I hold FF7 very dear in my heart, and that segment felt like a spit to the face to the original players.

Rebirth and Remake are for the most part absolutely brilliant and do very well in honouring the og, but moments like this hurt my soul.

There's also a big trend of making every scene much more exaggerated and over the top.
Sad scene? Lots of crying and drama!
Happy scene? Everyone laughing!

Less is more sometimes, and the original FF7 managed to make that scene way more somber and sad with just written text and a dozen polygons

Vague Rebirth spoilers but I really really dislike how they handled the C. Prison part, and I very much prefer the original's way of telling that part of the story.

I didn't need a battle against some random enemy right after some emotional moments, or a minigame after that.

Let the story breathe.
