Tai's model - Wikipedia

Tai's model (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tai%27s...) is a good example for two interesting things: multiple discovery, and failure of peer review

0% might make some users think they have no data (or worse, they’ve somehow lost all their data). The β€œless than 1%” is a neat idea just for that case.

#WWDC25 thoughts thread:

First up, not sure how accessible or easy to read this new design language will be. Past experience with transparency oriented stuff in macOS is not giving me a lot of hope.

It's wild to me that Waymo is always more expensive than Uber or Lyft, has a longer waiting time, and still hundreds of thousands of people use the service.

Can't imagine this would ever happen in Bangalore for any service.

After using public transit for two weeks in Tokyo, it is painfully clear how slow the BART and Muni fare gates are.

Fast Track Immigration

FYI, TTP is ftittp.mha.gov.in/fti/ and this was at BLR.

Just went through the TTP immigration gate and it was super quick and smooth! All it took was scanning my passport, boarding pass, and index fingerprint.

Immediate question that comes to mind: what happens if any of those scans fail? Fall back to the regular talk-to-a-person immigration method?

Woke up thinking about sand and sand timers, and it took me a good ten minutes to realize I was thinking of an hourglass ⏳

Every time I’m in SF 🌁 I randomly bump into friends from Bangalore, on the road, in a park, outside a cafe. Every. Single. Time.

And that’s beautiful.

Wow! Could you share a specific example?

You'd think tech workers would drive instead of taking a train (because higher disposable income) but they are not doing that because yay reliable public transit!

The first seats to be taken are the ones with small desks in front of them, and everyone who chooses those seats pulls out a laptop or iPad, connects to the Wi-Fi, and immediately starts working. It really says something about the people who use the service regularly.

The new electrified Caltrain is so good! Super smooth, so quiet, and free high speed wifi β€” hard to believe you're not in a European train ⚑

Bit disappointing that peak outdoor brightness on the MacBook Pro has stayed at 1000 nits for many years now

I cannot stress enough just how incredible the 16 Pro camera system is. This is straight off the camera, zero edits.
