The overwhelming feeling of disappointment when you go into a game blind and its run-based.

If I went into VII completely blind it might have made a bigger impression, but I may have also been disappointed to see the game turn back into a "traditional" DQ game after four hours of combatless, puzzle-oriented gameplay. The newer versions just don't pretend the game is something it's not.

Anyway, I played through the opening of Dragon Warrior VII for the PSX since a lot of the old heads say the newer versions of VII ruin the introduction. I can understand preferring the somewhat more mature localization, and the puzzle dungeon is interesting, but the intro is largely the same.
