Laughing at me while I'm on bed rest, visted to CHEER ME UP... And he laughs at me. He's far too cute to be mad at though.

Laughter is one of his favorite sounds, along with ouch. He created that combo, not me!

Gotta love Nesting season! Diverting undesired behavior with foraging, toys and puzzles is a good follow up to taking their hidy hole away. We can all use a little understanding somedays! Yes I'll be blocking off the space once I've finished reorganizing and donating. #cockatiels #petbirds #birds

The Stockholms syndrome looks too be setting. Blu is everyone's younger sibling, unshakable in his belief that he is loved and inexhaustible in his quest to be accepted by the big kids. This is a typical part of flock integration, its dramatic, but ultimately they will build bonds of trust.

The first time Blu chose to land on me while I was on bed rest. This is a huge win after a year of fear free taming.. For him, it was a moment of conquering his fear of humans. I can't wait to share his next big leap forward!

Just for fun... He likes to chatter and I have a very active imaginative! They really did some damage to the windowsill... that's not a joke!

So.. My birthday is coming up in a few months.This year I'm thinking of something at one of the local rescues or shelters. Maybe taking some supplies to the cat Cafe and arranging a small sweet treat to share with staff.. Or the rescue petting zoo.. Doggy day out..

Social media can parent a deceptive view of what having birds is, and their capabilities. They don't start out talking, or doing tricks; it takes a lot of effort for them to learn! Huggin's favorite is laughter, what do you think that says about the environment he lives in?
