And being able to do this near her death and his death has been an important part of my grief and that rosary became a symbol of their love, especially hers.

So all this to say, if you find a red and silver rosary in NYC, please let me know. It is dearly missed.

This is doubly upsetting as I bought that rosary at a market in Chicago the day of her funeral (which I had to plan & speak at), & it was also the last day her partner, my uncle, was alive & the last time I got to tell him I love him.

The thing here is the ritual. I don’t believe but they did.

Feeling really down today. Monday marked the passing of my aunt, who was more a mother to me than my own mother. Yesterday, I went to a cathedral in the city to light a candle & say the rosary in her honor (she & her partner were Catholic) and I found I’d lost the rosary.

Went to a pen show today in Manhattan and picked up all these beauties! 🥹
