While there are some races we opted to not make endorsements in, we are grateful for every candidate who filled out our endorsement questionnaire and your willingness to collaborate with CCEA, now and in the future.

Headshot of Catherine McMullen with text "CCA Endorses Catherine McMullen, County Clerk, November 3 General Election."
We endorse Catherine McMullen for County Clerk in the November 3 general election. Also a former union member, McMullen has been vocally supportive of CCEA during her time as Clerk and believes the right to organize is vital in protecting workers’ rights.
Headshot of Sonya Fischer saying CCEA Endorses Sonya Fischer, County Commissioner Position 5, May 19 Primary Election
We endorse Sonya Fischer for Clackamas County Commissioner Position 5 in the May 19 primary election. Fischer is a former union member and believes that county employees are the key to a safe and healthy community.
Our experience with bargaining–and almost striking–last year showed us how important it was to have elected officials who care about the folks who keep the county running: the workers.
CCEA is pleased to announce that, for the first time ever, we are making candidate endorsements in the upcoming Clackamas County elections.

Today our stewards and officers (and baby Charlie) spent the day learning how to better support our members. Thank you to everyone who spent a beautiful day in a conference room learning. We are stronger together 💪
CCEA has filed another ULP (unfair labor practice) complaint against Clackamas County. How is Clackamas County violating the Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs)?
The county concealed information in response to information requests.
The county made unilateral changes to the layoff process without notifying CCEA or providing the opportunity to bargain as required by the Public Employees Collective Bargaining Act.
We suspect that employees targeted for layoff are in essence being terminated without just cause and are not experiencing job elimination due to budgetary constraints or other limitations on county resources.

Graphic which says 94% of FCE voted YES with 90% members voting, and 94% of FFAP voted YES with 85% members voting.
In a historic action, both federations at PCC have voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike!
This does not mean a strike begins now, but that our unions are organized and ready to fight for a fair contract.

Last week, Florencia Rubio, a CCEA member, passed away under heartbreaking circumstances, along with two of her children. Her surviving 20 year old son has launched a GoFundMe to help with funeral costs and support as he navigates this extremely difficult chapter. www.gofundme.com/.../remember....
We had a massive turnout in our first strike authorization vote, and over 90% voted to authorize a strike. Thank you to all of our members and all of the members of the community who have supported us.
Members have spoken at BCC meetings and made their voice heard a total of 32 times. We have made connections with community groups, local businesses and other labor unions.
31 members stepped up to be strike captains, and other members have helped in other ways. People have volunteered so many hours of their time doing everything from answering their team’s questions to securing a donation of porta-potties.
We launched a social media presence, which has led to attention and support from the community. We have been reported on by The Oregonian, OPB, KOIN, KGW, Carpenter Media and more.
We have gained over 300 new dues paying members since October. We raised almost $10,000 for our solidarity fund, which gives us an incredible head start for next time.
We have accomplished so much in this bargaining cycle, and we could not be more proud of our members for how they have stepped up.
We know this is not enough and that our members deserve more, but it is a start, and we will keep fighting. Our union is in the strongest place it has ever been, and we will continue building on this momentum.
While we know that one floating holiday is not adequate, it is still a victory, and we will keep fighting for part-time and temporary employees in the next bargaining cycle.
We also secured one floating paid holiday for temporary and part-time workers after 12 months of service, because temporary and part-time employees are doing so much to keep the county running.
Because of the hard work, engagement and unified stance of CCEA members, the county caved on a retroactive cost-of-living adjustment, something they said they would never do.

Earlier this week, the county came to us with a new offer. Today, CCEA members have voted to ratify the contracts. This means we will not be striking on Monday.
Attacks on public services and public workers are unacceptable. Clackamas County workers deserve to be treated fairly! Donate to support them, small donations add up!
Thank you to everyone who has supported our strike fund! This will make a huge difference in helping our lower income members be able to participate in the strike.
Can you help us get to $10k? It's not too late to donate!
