The work done by Dr. Foster and her colleagues is so incredibly important. As a young repro justice scholar,I have learned SO much from her research. This is a terrible loss and I hope there is some private orgs willing to fill in the gaps.

🚨 🚨 🚨 the North Carolina state court is going along with Jefferson Griffins request to disenfranchise tens of thousands of NC voters by throwing out their votes. And thereby hand the seat on the NC SCT to Griffin when Justice Allison Riggs won the election. This is a HUGE deal.

No better way to ensure the abortion rate will go up than to slash federal funding for family planning.

Trump Admin Pulls Research Funding To Protect Pregnant Women From Domestic Violence Homicide by an abusive partner is the leading cause of death for pregnant women in the U.S. – and researchers are gutted by the sudden cuts.

Homicide is the LEADING cause of death of pregnant women, but, yes, let’s cancel funding to address domestic violence during pregnancy because it might be “DEI.” Our government has ceased to be a functioning entity. www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-...

And now they are claiming a First Amendment right to discriminate against employees who have had abortion or maybe even use birth control

That was definitely what the framers had in mind!

Sadly, this should shock absolutely no one.

We can, and must, do better.

"Findings provide early confirmation of reports that clinicians have migrated from states most impacted by the Dobbs decision," which "has implications for reproductive care access, quality, and equity as abortion rights are increasingly decided at the state level."

We can— and must— defend constitutional norms as if they are institutions worth protecting while simultaneously acknowledging that those institutions are not self-executing and require political work to preserve.

I just read Beautyland by Marie-Helene Bertino for my book club and really enjoyed it. A little weird, a little funny, very good for sparking conversations about the nature of human experience.

In addition to (gesturing generally) all of this, I have fielded the following questions from my 6yo this week:
- Are we at the top of the food chain? Even if we're vegetarians?
- How do we know when the Earth will die?
- What ecosystem do we live in?
- How many boyfriends did you have before dad? 😳

Any university that voluntarily shutters a DEI program, office or personnel “Because of Trumps Executive Order” is making a PR decision. Not a legal one.

Trumps EO does not change anti discrimination law. If anything, the EO is unlawful.

Universities should treat it that way.

Dear journalists: Now, more than ever,

✨The lawyers need to see the actual court filings.✨

Yes, I know you summarized. Yes, I know your non-attorney readers don't care.

But we need to see the documents. The actual documents.

If you're pulling docs from PACER, use RECAP & give us a link. Please.
