It's time to move on from fossil fuels, and make a serious transition to renewables. Tired of how we go on about the "technology" that is going to help us with CO2 emissions and methane. Let's strategize and move forward with renewables, saving our trees and changing agricultural practices!!
thenarwhal.ca/space-junk-f... Is it not enough for our whole planet to be a large garbage dump? Must our skies also be one?
π¦ππ§ͺπ³π¦Bats need forests and forests need bats. Learn why you should be thinking about the "Bat Tree" rather than the "Bat Cave" when it comes to bat conservation... B.A.T. (Bats And Timber) #BatsAndForests

The need for density and affordable housing is at crisis point, but so are our green spaces that support biodiversity - thoughtful planning can help support people and planet.
Designing with bats, other wildlife and the environment in mind is something we have been championing for many decades. Download our FREE Landscape and Urban Design for Bats and Biodiversity for inspiring ideas and ways to incorporate ecological design principles www.bats.org.uk/resources/gu...

This is the same in Canada. City of Vancouver has also studied the difference between mown lawn, not mown lawn, mixed lawn, and an urban meadow. Biodiversity increases from not mowing and most dramatically from adding an urban meadow.

Naming leads to knowing, which leads to understanding. Residents of a small British Columbia island take to the forests and beaches to connect with their nonhuman neighbors.
Love this - making the invisible, visible.

By me: what to expect at the first coference on the transition away from fossil fuels in Santa Marta @drilledmedia.bsky.social

That is disappointing! I've been chatting to everyone. Such a hopeful strategy.

This is why giving your old clothes away is not a solution. We need to consume less - can't just flood the planet with all or trash!
The shine of an electric car can hide a brutal story: cleared forests, polluted rivers, and families pushed from their homes in Congoβs mining regions. Demand responsibility from automakers. βοΈ #RainforestRescue #ActForRainforest

βIn Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back to a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.β
IT SAVES PUBLIC MONEY to house people.

Its only since reading some posts and articles that I am seeing the clutter and waste of space due to parked cars.
india.mongabay.com/2026/04/when... The plastic recycling bin is an illusion. If we lived surrounded by mountains of plastic, instead of shipping it away, we would work hard to reduce production. And everything about how plastic appears aims to make us forget - plastic is an oil product :-(
Its interesting how engaging and compelling an idea is when it is tied to a story. Facts are great, but hearing how someone was affected by X or Y is not only going to draw me in, its generally going to be digestible and memorable.

Holy! Hopefully worth the looong wait.
I always wonder why we want to communicate with animals, if we dont want to listen or protect them.
Its embarrassing and tragic!
That makes sense! If you cook it, they will come.
Mind blowing!
Lets not forget the plastics sponsored by oil!!

Except I am tired of speed signs which are understood as suggestions! With signs, more than enforcement, which is sporadic, we need traffic slowing strategies such as roundabouts, road hips and whatever creative ideas are out there.
Try European recipes for precision as ingredients needed are determined by weight. If not available, eyeball it (of course, it requires you to determine what a "normal" carrot looks like!!)
