I still regret watching the movie "Arrival" before reading "Stories of Your Life" by Ted Chiang. Nothing wrong with movie, was a great movie, LOVED Amy Adams in it. It's just that the book was even better. Wish I started with the novella. I couldn't agree more with Diaz's opinion on the cover.

Listening to "Hail Mary" by Andy Weir. What an absolutely great book! I am so jealous of Weir's ability to imagine such an original plot line and such a fascinating alien race. Can't recommend too highly.
So glad I am reading this first rather than seeing movie first.

I tried listening to The Salmon of Doubt, his unfinished last book, while driving and literally had to pull off the road because I was laughing so hard.

The books are great, all the different versions. But my favorite all time version were the record albums where they fixed all the mistakes made under pressure while recording the radio broadcasts and had best voice for Deep Thought.
