Votes are the leverage people wield to push candidates to *actually do something.* there's no point in getting into office if you don't actually *do* something when you get there. And if the idea is "push them after they're elected" then they have no incentive to do anything at all
If you want to get elected, then show *why you should be*, show what you bring to the table, and no, "at least I'm not the other guy" isn't enough. No one is owed a vote. You have to *win over* voters. And if you can't, you don't deserve to be in office
