My letter in today's Edinburgh Evening News setting the record straight on our group's position on North-South tram.

We will await the consultation report and continue to listen to the views of residents and stakeholders. It would be premature to reach a decision before that.

Hungary turns the page on Orbán era as voters reject far-right rule The European Green Party welcomes the historic outcome of the Hungarian elections, marking the end of Viktor Orbán’s (Fidesz, Patriots.eu) 16 years in power and a clear rejection of far-right politics...

Under Orbán, Hungary has suffered years of democratic backsliding, and as a result its civil society and media are fragile. Restoring media freedom, the independent judiciary and civil service, must now be the priority. europeangreens.eu/news/hungary...

In the first big leaders' debate of the election, @ross-greer.bsky.social spoke up strongly for a welcoming Scotland and against the racism of the far right.

And most of the audience agreed - rejecting Reform's lies and dogwhistles.

The fact the Labour Party, Tories and Reform all have specific policies to make it harder to come here and be a social care worker is absolutely disgraceful when this country is going through a social care crisis. #bbcdn

Labour simply aren't serious about tackling the #climate emergency. The number one emissions sector is transport (mostly cars) and we won't meet our climate targets without *both* better sustainable transport options and discouraging less sustainable travel.

Very disappointed the Green amendment to increase footway maintenance by 20%, which would meet the Labour 2022 manifesto commitment, was voted down today.

Astonishingly, Labour voted against their own manifesto commitment.

I'm very hopeful we will see 3 parties support safer streets in the vote later today.

On the basis of amendments tabled, I'm hopeful that Labour, SNP & Greens will prioritise kids' lives over convenience of car drivers.

The Independent. Starmer warns Iran war impact 'will afect the future of UK'.

He says Iran is not our war. But even as the US threatens to commit war crimes on a mass scale, Trump's military is using UK infrastructure to carry out its bombing campaign.

The UK should follow the lead of others and refuse all cooperation with Trump's dangerous regime.

Integrated ticketing is already normal across Europe. It allows people to use one ticket to travel across different buses, trains, trams, subways and ferries.

Our ScotCard would allow Scotland to do the same, using a 'tap-on, tap-off' system with daily price caps. 🚌🚆⛴️
