The likeness is uncanny! ๐

I went through my gluttonous, consume mass quantities collecting phase early on. I'm thankful to be a place in my collecting journey where I'm similar to you, with a want list that's rather narrowed and specific.
Nah, they don't make me jealous. I'm either:
- Paranoid "did they find something great I overlooked?!"
or
- Puzzled "how can they possibly store all of that?"
And fwiw: "something great" is very much in the eye of the beholder. ๐
You know, for the days requiring yard work. Just don't forget the sunscreen.
Probably pairs well with this: bsky.app/profile/adam...
FYI @doldrums.bsky.social
A typical Roddenberry/Berman era first season. The writers & producers are still figuring out the characters are beyond the simple shapes carved out for the pilot. It's funny (to me) to see how much Rom is rewritten from a 1-dimensional Ferengi stereotype into a kind-hearted father & partner.
There's good reasons DS9 is my all-time favorite Trek series. Here's a few of them.
Coachella is trying to wipe all of the footage of The Strokes protest set so Iโm gonna post it here. The last images on the screen made me cry.
Star Trek The Original Series scene. We're in a CORRIDOR! A room door is open, and we see two crewmen spilling out into the hallway in red and blue uniforms. They are otherwise indecipherable tho because they are entirely enveloped in a big cloud of smoke. It's pouring out all around them and into the hallway area, like there's a Phish concert in there. Closed caption reads, "[COUGHING]"
That's a great pile; well done!
Heck yeah, Hayden Sherman!
I've been wondering the same, feeling like I have an obligation to call it out. But unsure exactly how do so without it seeming like a clumsy or obtuse effort.
A friend shared this w/ me yesterday since I hadn't seen it even tho the story is ~3 wks old. I'm simultaneously horrified & unsurprised by what I read, that there's men & web content out there so depraved & monstrous. It's terrible the story is maybe getting lost among all the other terrible news.
So envious of MA folks today for this event!
Klingon Telepath: TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO PSI.
Good luck, and good hunting!
What thickness of boards are you doubling-up on?
I'd have surely made the same decision if given a similar opportunity for OV-102. Thinking about the loss of the crew & spacecraft even now is still an emotional experience. I can't imagine the somber weight of seeing that room in-person. Some things, I'm not meant to see.
This is amazing! ๐คฉ Thank you for sharing.
Have you considered just waking up filthy rich tomorrow? ๐
For curiousity's sake, do you track the location where you saw a particular spacecraft if it happened to be different from its usual home? E.g. I know Liberty Bell 7 has been loaned out from KS Cosmophere, or when Apollo 11's Columbia toured the country some years back.
This is my new favorite bit of meticulous nerdery as a spreadsheet! I'm super envious of your collected experiences in seeing these spacecraft in-person. :)
About 5'6". ๐
The itch to finish a run gets extra itchy when you get so close.
Vinson buying issues on the internet. What's next, the dead rising from the grave, cats and dogs living together? When's the mass hysteria begin? lol
Aka: it's other collectors with more $ but less common sense than me.
Not my house but I know my way around.
