We had a brief period of sun and warmth to bring out the bees to my dad’s cherry tree on Friday. The western honey bees were loving it!

I’m in MI. We went from freezing temps and snow to 70s yesterday, inches of rain falling the last month after record setting snow this winter (which melted all at once up north and is now coming down the rivers). Thankfully where we’re at water is high but we’re not on a river.

I haven’t noticed anything so far and I have bad pollen allergies (yet I stick my head in flowers to take pictures). Hopefully the one good thing all the rain does, is to keep the pollen down in the air. The record high flooding and roads being washed away is a whole other issue. 😔

Yeah, I’m hoping all that pollen doesn’t make me as sick as it did last yr! 😬

This is the only one I’ve edited but I have one with pollen on its head as it comes out of a flower. I’m also going back tomorrow to see if I can get more if the storm we’re getting now doesn’t knock all the flowers down.

I’ve been waiting for my dad’s tree to bloom and the bees to come out. I asked my mom everyday. Today was the day! I ran right over after work. Trying to catch the bees in flight.

In case you’re wondering, this is the pic of the AL rotunda.

Prior to visiting the MI capitol Friday, the only capitol I’d been in was AL’s when I joined a field trip while visiting my niece + nephew abt 10 yrs ago. I’d laid on the floor + taken a pic of the rotunda. I wanted to repeat that but construction didn’t allow it.

I went to Michigan State last week to watch my alma mater play them in hockey. I’d only been there a couple times so I reached out to a friend to see what to check out to photograph. Beaumont Tower on campus was her first recommendation.
