Hey @sprk.so I keep trying to to change my profile and the picture shows up tilted to one side like this?

I did once, it was a Thursday
That one time I wrote a solarpunk sci fi novella 👀
FYI if you’re talking about the #Artemis II mission and you want to get the spaceflight terminology right, the mission is “crewed,” not “manned.” (NASA made the terminology change official decades ago, so this isn’t new, but a lot of folks just aren’t aware.)
Sounds cool! I’m down to give it a try
Awesome! I gotta check this out
Yes, but I think the added layer of complexity is that you can also do outbound messages to other non-ATmosphere email holders, like gmail, and then also be able to log into an account like Outlook with your AT protocol email,
At least this is my initial idea.
The more I think about it the more I realize this is basically Bridgy Fed for email
This idea keeps itching a part of my brain and it seems like it could be sooo so cool to do.
I’d really like someone a lot smarter than me to explore a way we create something similar to email, where we can send messages to each other’s PDS’s, but also somehow be able to log onto SMTP based apps and send outbound messages to non-protocol email accounts.
losing contact with the earth for 40 minutes sounds nice
Go Artemis!

Reid Wiseman on #Artemis II: "We have Earth out window 4 and Moon out window 3... the Moon is about 3-4 times the size of the Earth and it is almost full, and the Earth is just a small crescent out there... it's magnificent... such a majestic view out here"
Mission Control: "Amaze, amaze, amaze!"
Gladly been contributing since June. Wish I had done it sooner.
Giving part III of my health policy lecture series next Monday, and we’re going to be reviewing SCOTUS cases relating to public health!
Been spending the morning studying Jacobson v Massachusetts
Go Artemis!
Before going to sleep on flight day 5, the Artemis II crew snapped one more photo of the Moon, as it drew close in the window of the Orion spacecraft. Orion and the four humans aboard entered the lunar sphere of influence at 06:37 CEST on 6 April, at the tail end of the fifth day of their mission. That marked the point at which the Moon's gravity had a stronger pull on the spacecraft than Earth's. Artemis II's closest approach to the Moon will come on flight day 6, as they swing around the far side before beginning their journey back to Earth.
✅ #Artemis II update: the spacecraft entered the lunar sphere of influence this morning at 05:37 BST/06:37 CEST, 6 April, at about 51 000 km from the Moon (the region of space where the Moon’s gravitational pull is stronger than that of Earth’s).

Feel free to shoot a DM so we can discuss further!
Godzilla v. King Kong is actually an upcoming Supreme Court decision after Godzilla petitioned SCOTUS following the Federal Court of Appeals upholding the original ruling in favor of the plaintiff on Kong v. Godzilla.
The crew of the United States Spacecraft Integrity will surpass the distance record of crewed spaceflight set by Apollo 13 more than half a century ago.
The Artemis II mission is already one for the record books, but these 4 astronauts will be able to see what only dozens of other people have seen.
Agree with a lot of the commentary around this. Realistically, there should only be two feeds on our skyline, your "following" feed and a "For You" feed that accumulates posts based on your likes, reposts, and any feeds you've already pinned.
Looking through one of the four windows of the Orion spacecraft, a tiny crescent Earth is illuminated against the blackness of space and grows smaller as the crew journeys closer to the Moon. Part of the window edge is visible; the rest is darkness. [Alt-text slightly revised from ESA/NASA version]
We are so, so small. #Artemis

It's Letterboxd linked to your ATproto account! It's fantastic
Just started using @popfeed.social and I love it

I think an important bit of context is being truncated on the X axis to the original graph.
Prior to the post-X Brazil ban/2024 election surge, active daily accounts was approx 100-150k. Approx a year 1/2 later, the daily total is approx 1 million, so nearly an entire order of magnitude greater.
