“The wrongs which we seek to condemn and punish have been so calculated, so malignant and so devastating that civilization cannot tolerate their being ignored because it cannot survive their being repeated.”

—Justice Robert H. Jackson, Chief American Prosecutor, Nuremberg, 1946

I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.

A federal jury confirmed what we've known all along- Live Nation and Ticketmaster illegally shut out competition, leaving ticket buyers with outrageous prices and fewer choices.
This is a major victory for consumers in the State of Connecticut and across the county.

BREAKING: Senate Republicans blocked my War Powers Resolution that would have ended Trump's unnecessary, unjustified war against Iran.

These cowards have had four chances to stop this chaos in the Middle East.

And they put Trump's ego before America.

Every damn time.

This is America. You can take on The Boss from New Jersey and the Pope from Chicago but you can't war with both.

This president is a hollow, bitter crank of a man. Stunted, frightened, stupid. But when he talks shit about Dolly Parton, the only diagnosis remaining is tertiary dementia.

Orbán turns out to be more of a democrat than the U.S. president and a nontrivial number of GOP candidates.

💥🇭🇺🗳️ BREAKING: Péter Magyar says Viktor Orbán called to concede and congratulate him.

Magyar will be Hungary’s next prime minister and, as it stands, is set to secure a 2/3 supermajority – enough to fully dismantle Orbán’s system.

A 16-year chapter is over.

for sure, congratulations to magyar. but the real heroes imo are those in civil society & journalism & rank-and-file opposition & academia who have fought against the disintegration of rule of law, the weaponization of the courts/media, & so much more for so long. 🇭🇺

With a new Hungarian Prime Minister, hopefully Russia's frozen money (in the EU) will be sent to Ukraine. 🤞🤞

Somehow it wasn't a security threat when Trump chose to knock down the East Wing, though. That was secure enough for Biden, Trump's previous term, Obama, and on and on.

Wouldn’t have worked if it was an insurance claim, shouldn’t work here. You shouldn’t be able to demand relief to a problem you caused. There’s no such thing as consequences anymore, it would seem.

He wasn't concerned about his family and staff's safety when he destroyed the bunker below the East Wing. A BS argument that a judge bought.

The suspension of US funding for post-exposure prophylaxis kits in eastern DRC has compounded the immediate medical consequences of the mass rapes taking place. PEP kits provide rape survivors with the ability to prevent HIV transmission in the critical window after an assault.

The bet here is actually pretty simple. Current trends put “red” districts and states in play. A big part of those trends is depressed Republican turnout. Impeachment threats risk mobilizing low-propensity Trump voters. Don’t mess with it before the midterms, QED.

It’s not actually unreasonable.

This is what the collapse looks like: a propaganda machine with no audience, a cult that didn’t show up, a film that couldn’t manufacture relevance, and a moral ecosystem so rotten that sexual predators, grifters, and authoritarians keep circling the same centers of power.

"The “Congress should hold hearings” framing deserves particular attention because it is the most sophisticated element of the statement and the most dishonest.

"It sounds like support for accountability. It is the opposite." - @brockm.bsky.social

The distinction matters: sworn victim testimony is sympathetic and controllable. Unredacted files naming conspirators are not.

The administration positioned itself as the champion of accountability while blocking the documentary record.

Watch the hands.

@briantylercohen.bsky.social:"Congress doesn't need to act because they did act.The Executive branch under Donald Trump needs to act..Perhaps instead of a press conference to America Melania could just pop over to the separate bedroom that Trump sleeps in and let him know"
