Canadian doctors obeying a U.S. executive order that doesnβt even apply to Canada is deeply offensive to both trans people and to Canadian legal sovereignty.
SCOOP: McGill University's on-campus doctors are now refusing to prescribe hormones to trans youth and adults under age 19... if they're U.S. citizens.
They claim liability issues, but this isn't the first time U.S. EOs have interfered with Canadian doctors.

Gil Duran tweet: TLDR: Fascism in response to Palantir's long fascists screed on X.
"Your Account is Suspended" Message on X
The CEO of Palantir posted a fascist manifesto on X.
I pointed out that it was fascistβwhich resulted in a permanent suspension from X (my second time!).
So, when you hear the tweeters complaining that BlueSky is intolerant, remember why many of us came here in the first place.
I whole-heartedly agree with this which is why I plan on starting to put GenAI to work on tech that benefits everyone in the near future.
And also on a discord bot to unfuck forum channels π€
No disagreement here. Students should learn the core concepts.. I find AI useful for coding because I have a sufficient level of skill to correct it when it's going off the rails. People who lack that expertise are at a significant disadvantage when using it
My company pretty bluntly said that developers won't be replaced by AI, but that we may be replaced by a developer who understands how to use AI better than they do. That has never been more true than it is today.
Honestly, I know I risk raising a bit of ire by saying this, but Hope is absolutely right here. There are a lot of great reasons to be skeptical of GenAI and dislike its application in creative industries, but recent advancements in Claude are impressive to put it mildly.
I don't know why Bluesky inserted a hyperlink there but I couldn't figure out how to remove it
Furthermore, we define a CLAUDE.md file in the root of our project that gives Claude information about the project's structure and other tools that it can use (particularly gradle tasks and such in our case) to accomplish things
My understanding is that Claude in particular offers a lot of flexibility in configuring guardrails and such. Our project uses a settings.json file in a .claude directory to indicate what Claude is allowed to run ootb.

I recently rewatched it and was absolutely shocked at how much of S1/S2 I skipped. DS9 was still awesome though
Hopefully with a watch guide because a good chunk of those episodes just do not hold up well π
Yeah I even graduated a year later of course but I'm well beyond 38 π
Yeah this was me realizing that it had been longer since I'd seen my high school friend that you reintroduced me to than it had been from the time I was born to the last day of high school
What a beautiful day outside! Walked to get the kids from school and cracked open the window in my office. The dismal season is leaving π
Presumably science might have an answer.... Or not idk
Looking sooooo pretty of course π
Way to go π
Oh he is PRECIOUS!! π»
Of all the nasty things to import from US politics, gerrymandering has got to be right up there.
I have always been very proud of our independent electoral boundary commissions, which usually do a thoughtful equitable job.

I think you know the answer π
How JK Rowling and Larry Ellison are promoting an international anti-LGBTQ+ fascist project disguised as children's entertainment.
How every dollar spent on Harry Potter goes towards global exterminationist hate orgs that reflect fascism throughout history
