In the book, history gets rewritten to match whoever’s in power today. Look for attempts to scrub or reframe historical records, edit official websites, or declare that what happened didn’t, or that what didn’t happen did.
Language and Thought Control
Orwell called it Newspeak: shrinking language to shrink what people can think. Watch for euphemisms that soften hard truths: “enhanced interrogation,” “alternative facts,” “efficiency” standing in for elimination. When the words go blurry, the ideas follow.
