When other arts need music, the music that connects to that need is only the music of the expressive machine, and it is in this connection that commodification works, and thus the mode of exploitation is renewed and reproduced.

Music's willingness to focus on its role as an question machine does not eliminate its function as an expressive machine (on the contrary, it expands its musical outreach), but when it focuses on its role as an expressive machine, its function as an question machine becomes very vulnerable.
